I find the Epic brand of gum to be both tasty and it stays nicely chewy when the flavor wears off. Yeah, the flavor goes, but I've found other gums to be the same way. Here is my complaint: I ordered the cinnamon and amazon shipped the fruit flavor, which I had been afraid to try so hadn't ordered it. It is delicious! However, that doesn't change the fact that I want the cinnamon flavor and must now reorder it. Amazon is the one who shipped it. Anyway, they were very nice about it. I also ordered a five pound bag of the powder, or crystals. I use it to sweeten tea and other items, and taking the advice of a doctor, i have added it to purified water and am using it as a mouthwash after eating anything. I just take a swig of it and swish it around in my mouth for a couple of minutes to get to the entire surface of the oral cavity. I couldn't be happier about finding xylitol! And for those of you who run across the scary research study about half the rats in the study dying, take the time to read more about it. It kind of scared me, so I read about it as i encourage you to do. The rats were fed a diet containing 20% xylitol for 49 straight days. Really?! 20%? What human or animal consumes 20% sweetener for 49 days? To me, and a natural doctor friend of mine, it seriously sounds like a setup. So far as I have been able to gather, xylitol seems credible in a far-reaching way, but I'm going to keep reading. And I love having something I can indulge in while helping my teeth and gums, plus other potential benefits. :). I do NOT work for their company, or ANY associated company, barely ran across this product a few days ago and have since read about 50 articles on it, have looked for credible negative aspects, and have not yet found anything that sounds substantial. But you would never want your dogs to consume anything containing it, or chocolate for that matter. Update: it has now been over two months since learning about and purchasing Xylitol products. I like the Epic brand much better than the Spry brand, it is mostly a texture issue with both the mints and the gum. Am very happy about adding xylitol to my life.

It’s my favorite flavor and it sure beats chewing plastic that is in regular gum.

For 8 years, I chewed at least a pack or two of 5 count Winterfresh gum a day and, but avoided other sweets and soft drinks. However, I had to face the inevitable toll of years of constant sugar-assault on my enamel from the gum at a dental appointment around a year ago. My dentist informed me that my enamel was severely thinned in multiple places, and I was likely to develop cavities in the near future. To delay or counter his prognosis, he suggested I try substituting my sugar gum for an enamel enforcing alternative gum, one containing xylitol. Which brings me to Epic Xylitol gum. I've consistently been rotating between boxes of Cinnamon, Tropical, Spearmint, and Peppermint flavors over the past 10 months since leaving my dentist's office and I am thoroughly impressed with the cinnamon flavor. I was never a fan of the overbearing flavor of Big Red, but the Cinnamon Epic gum has a very smooth and more palatable taste in comparison. Consistently chewing the xylitol gum has significantly improved my enamel condition and has prevented me from getting any cavities so far. However, chewing nearly a pack a day, I end up spending quite a bit on this gum over time. Also, as other reviews have stated, the flavor does not last as long as a typical sugar-free or sugar-containing gum, and it gets firm relatively fast. For keeping me from having to lay under the dentist's drill and providing me with a good tasting alternative to sugar-containing gum, I strongly recommend Epic. I recommend trying the Cinnamon flavor in particular because the refreshing and evenly-presented cinnamon was truly surprising. Keep in mind that while the gum may not be cheap, it sure is better than having to pay to get a filling!

The flavor is good and the individual blister packs keep the gum fresh even in my vehicle. I do limit myself to one of these a day even though they contain xylitol, one of the more healthy sugar substitutes. But artificial sweeteners of any kind should be kept to a minimum.
