Zoo Med Wipe Out 1 Terrarium & Small Animal Cage Cleaner

To my surprise this ended up becoming a product in my pet arsenal that I did not even know I would need or even want. This stuff is great stuff! I own a Russian Turtle who lives within a 40 gallon fish tank (waterless). Before stumbling upon this product, I regularly (weekly) will "deep clean" her habitat with watered down bleach and at times, "elbow grease" to scrub off dried dung from the bottom of her tank. I mainly purchased this as it identified that this product prevented mites and other stuff that plague the turtle world. At first, I only bought it to test it out, as my usual cleaning method seemed to work well. Yet, I admit, in my opinion, this has turned out not only being a product that gave a clean scent (which NEEDS to disapate before turtle re-entry into the tank), it also gives her tank a sparkle clean while making dung scrubbing 'much' easier to remove. Suddenly this 'test drive product', now has become my #1, go to, clean out the tank even cleaner than the bleach solution. Not only does it clean out the tank nicely, it states that this product prevents "broad spectrum of bacteria, including salmonella choleraesuis and pseudo. aeruginosa; as well, it is also a liquid antibacterial cleaner, disinfectant and deodorizer."

Works great only one i use now. We have a leopard gecko and i see no harm to him, great price. I hope you try it

Wipe Out 1 is effective—it kills salmonella, pseudomonas, and other nasties. But for everyday cleaning in Lil TiTan’s habitat, it’s a bit much. You have to remove everything, saturate the surfaces, wait five minutes, then fully dry and ventilate before putting your pet back. That’s fine for deep cleans, but not practical for quick wipe-downs or spot cleaning. The formula is unscented and doesn’t leave residue, which is nice. But it’s also a bit harsh—definitely not something I’d use daily unless I’m dealing with a serious biohazard. For routine upkeep, gentler cleaners are easier and safer. If you need a heavy-duty disinfectant for occasional deep cleans, this works. Just don’t expect it to be your go-to for casual maintenance.

We bought a used tank and needed to clean it out as it was not used or cleaned in quite some time. This cleaner worked quick and easily! Highly recommend spraying and letting it sit as it states to get as much as you can out. I thought the price was great for the size especially since you only need a little bit and it goes a long way!

Works as should

I would never use another brand to clean my pet Russian tortoise mess (bathroom). However I don’t like to clean the glass with it (soap and water cleans better) because leaves behind alot of green residue which dont wipe off easily (with a wet and/or dry paper towel or newspaper) but if you have carpet in the tank this would be the cleaner to buy.

I was skeptical about this product, but decided to give it a shot since it was very economically priced. I was given a cage with crusty rat poop in it. It made my car smell atrocious on the ride home! I sprayed the Zoo Med Wipe Out and let sit for 5 min (according to the directions) and I scrubbed all the crud off. I can stick my head into the cage and not smell any lingering aromas of the rats. I later just sprayed some on a paper towel and wiped off my hamster's wheel and it took care of the urine aroma immediately. Leaves no residue. I'll definitely be purchasing more!

I spray this in my bearded dragons tank when I clean it. I take my bearded dragon out and then I spray everywhere he had left waste during the week. It works wonders in getting both the smell and the waste out of his carpet. I personally would wash it out with water afterwards after letting it set for a few minutes in order to get the chemicals out before putting it back in the tank. The item is reptile safe, but I feel better washing it out and letting it dry before I put him back in.
