A lot of fun in a small box.
This game has 4 things going for it. First, its Fun. Second, its easy to teach. Third the box is small enough to carry anywhere. and fourth, it Supports 1-4 players right out of the box. It can work with up to 6 players if you add either basic star realms or the Colony wars set and it can be played in a variety of formats including cooperative and team based. Another bonus is that the art is much more dynamic than it was in the original set. this little box is a great value and a really good edition of a very well designed and fun game.

A super fun, addictive card game!
My girlfriend and I were looking for a new game to play together when we came across Star Realms. Not only does it have strategy and intrigue akin to games like Magic, which I appreciate, but it is also easy to learn and somewhat whimsical, similar to more mainstream, classic board/card games. My girlfriend enjoys it as much as I do! The rulebook for this expansion includes instructions on how to play a traditional 1v1 game, as well as rule modifications for 1-4 player game types including cooperative scenarios. The package includes 8 "challenge" cards that layout a framework for cooperative missions. When combined with the original Star Realms set or the Colonies expansion, the game will support up to 6 players. I have yet to stray from the traditional 1v1 setup, but I'm sure it will be a blast when I do. It's difficult to beat the value of this game, especially for a two-player!

One of the best card games I’ve ever played
I’ve had this game for five years now. We have fun every time we play My son was 6 now he’s 11 Has been a fun family game and it’s easily portable for camping and travel but you need. Decent size table to play. Simple. No pieces or markers just cards. Each faction has unique characteristics such as discards healing card draws and color synergy Highly recommend

Fantastic Box Set
This is the ultimate introduction to the game. Starting decks for 6 players, score cards, a nice deck, a well-written actual rulebook and 8 co-op / single player challenges. The box itself has a divider and is quite sturdy. Compared to the basic Star Realm deck this is much better - in fact I actually put the original Star Realms deck inside this box (fits but not with the unneeded 10-card starter decks from the original box) very comfortably. Game is great. Girlfriend who is basically allergic to learning new games (insists on the same old ones) liked it pretty quickly.

Great Boxed Set
I was hooked on this game as soon as my coworker introduced it to me. It's a Player vs Player game (essentially attacking other players until they lose all their health) with a deck of special cards which feels similar to Magic the Gathering, but differs by the deck-building mechanism which keeps the game more equal and keeps players on their toes. There are different factions with different strategies that you can play out which keeps the game interesting. I purchased this boxed set after being gifted the original (2 player only) Star Realms deck because this boxed set really provides the ultimate options for players: It can play up to 4 players with JUST this single boxed set (so if you include the original star realms deck, you can play up to 6 players). This boxed set also includes ways for a single player to play against different enemies, and also offers up a variety of challenges, co-ops, and alternative ways to play and expand upon the original game. If you are looking to get started with Star Realms and are debating between which deck or boxed set to give them, the Frontiers Boxed set is definitely a good one to start with!

It's only OK compared to the original.
The OG star realms is one of our favorite games and we bought this set (and some sleeves) to replace a core set that had completely worn out. We play mostly 2 or three player games. The Authority counters are now ordered 0-9 on the tens card, which is a nice ergonomic improvement. This set comes with enough explorers, scouts, etc. for four players. That is very appreciated. They tried to balance the cards compared to the original set, and I don't feel like it's an improvement overall. For example, some of the Machine Cult cards are weakened -- like only scrap from your hand and not discard pile. Because of hand size, there's a threshold over 5 cost where ships are categorically harder to purchase. So they made some of the smaller cards a little stronger and the huge cards _even_ stronger. This does make your damage more consistent compared to the original set, where you sometime went from 5-8 per turn to 20-30 closing rounds. Ally powers were already very useful, and the double-ally powers here make the game more random in a bad way. A good draw in the late game was brutally effective before, but now you might pull three Blob cards in the mid-game and hit even stronger. The flavor of the factions is watered down a little bit. Blue does more damage and green does less. Yellow doesn't draw nearly as much as before.

Amazing Product for the Cost (High Replayability)
Game is awesome. Very quick set up and easy to explain in a short amount of time. If you want to you can implement a lot of strategy too. I am new to Star Realms abd am very happy with this game. There are so many options for replayability including solo play. The 4 factions are neat too. Blob = high damage Machine = scrap (good for making deck more predictable) Star Empire = Trade and Card Draw Trade Federation = heal There simply isn't anything better for the price. The concept of a deck building game is really interesting to me and I'm already enjoying it! Each round your Player Deck gets stronger and stronger. The goal is to get your enemy to 0 Authority (health).

Love this game
This game was my introduction to deck builder games. I bought this expansion first because it is enough to be a standalone game, not just an expansion, and can play up to 4 people. I’ve taught this game to many people. It’s fun and easy to learn and play.
