Linie Aquavit Fra Norge Liqueur, 70 cl

Love this stuff, Linie is the best. Best drunk when ice cold from a freezer in a small shot glass. Follow it down with a cold larger chaser. Wrap the bottle in a tea towel to keep it cool and to stop it freezing to your fingers when pouring. It does not freeze solid but just becomes more viscous due to the high alcohol content. Always powers a good Christmas morning breakfast. Can catch up with you if not careful... follow it with a good coffee and a fresh walk. :-)

I wasn’t sure about this at first, it is heavier on the caraway and is not as nice as something like Aalborg for a trident… but, 2 oz this, half a lime squeezed, a bar spoon of maple syrup; pure bliss. This is a great aquavit.

I first discovered this on a long working visit to Norway in the 1970s and I keep buying the occasional bottle in an attempt to relive those memories. It's strange stuff, though given the chance it does "grow" on you. These days I cannot handle it as well as I used to and I also have the impression that there is quite a bit more "fireball" in today's bottle than there ever was in the old days. Does any other drinker of this stuff experience the same? More fiery than it used to be? Ach, weel, it's no' that important in the great scheme of things, though to be honest I was mebbes just wondering, has the company maybe been taken over globally and this Aquavit maybe no longer "Crosses The Line"? Just asking.

Very smooth, an authentic taste

not altogether what i was expecting but since i didnt have any idea what it was like i was very impressed with it and i will probably get some more. Not as hash as whisky
