HDMI to RCA Cable

I record TV off of my computer’s YouTube TV to my Panasonic DVD/VCR combo. Gives me a very nice 720p video recording onto a DVD recording of football games I wish to keep. Would also work well for any other TV programs as long as I don’t mind the 720p quality video.

I recently dumped my outrageously expensive cable TV and went with one of the major streaming services using a Roku device. In our treadmill room we have a very old analog, CRT TV that has only COAX or RCA inputs. It still works great, has built in DVD and VCR for the old stuff and it made no sense to get rid of it. This converter is exactly what we needed to connect between the Roku and the TV. Works very well. To clear up any confusion because there is a photo with a power source and it is advertised as "everything you need" it does NOT come with a power source. I had a couple of AC to USB power adapters lying around. One had two USB outlets so I was able to connect both the HDMI to RCA converter and my Roku to that single power source taking up only one outlet. Highly recommend this device. It is "everything you need" except the power source.

I used this device to connect the Red-Yellow-White component inputs of an old-style JVC TV to the HDMI output of an old ROKU 2 device, so that we can stream videos of our church service live to this old TV. This worked right and was easy to connect. Picture quality and audio signals came through fine. Don't forget you'll need a USB power source for it (i.e., the typical 110 volt transformer cube used for recharging phones, etc). The cable lengths on the device are not very long- they worked for me, but you might want to measure your situation to confirm they will reach as far as you need. On the plus side, the short cables keep the "cable mess" tidy.

The purpose for which this was purchased, did an awesome job while I had use of my laptop, which I'm hoping I'll be getting it back again to start using. I have an analog tv and this allowed me to connect my laptop to it to use it as a monitor. I'm wanting to use it to watch movies, if possible. I actually had a friend install this device and he was done in no time but he's got the know-how to get the job done. But I can't rate the "easy to install" feature since I didn't install it, and I don't want to rate the "easy to use" feature, bc since it's been connected I haven't touched any part of it, so I don't consider myself qualified to rate it.

If you're like me and you love awesome old tvs but you're tired of them being incredibly good looking pieces of ancient tech with absolutely no function other than being stylish as heck...then this converter is for you. I wanted cable on an old TV I have in my livingroom. I was worried this converter wouldn't be adequate for my needs or that I'd need some other dumb part or that it would take me forever to figure out how to get it to work. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. Incredibly easy installation. All I needed to do was hook it up and attach it to a power source and lo and behold, cable TV! Obviously it's an old TV and not HD so this product can't do anything to change picture quality. It's definitely better quality than when I just had a digital converter for crappy free channels though. I'm super happy I bought this and I highly recommend it!

I purchase this item to connect a PC laptop with HDMI port to a digital projector that had only RGB and composite video. The projected image did not look as sharp as when the projector is connected to a DVD player with composite video (yellow port) or computer through the RGB input. A second concern is that the box which is powered by the USB got very hot to the touch in a very short period of time. All things considered the HDMI to RCA Converter does allow me to connect a more up to date computer to a somewhat out of date projector.

I have a newer Blu-Ray player with only HDMI output and an older TV with only RCA input. To connect them, I first tried an HDMI to RCA cable with no converter; this setup did not work. I then tried this cable with the converter, and it has been working just fine for about six weeks. A USB wall charger is required for the converter cable, but is not supplied with this product.

Didn’t work

I took a chance that this unit being USB powered would trigger DEX and allow me to choose screen mirroring and it does just that perfectly well. I wanted to mirror the Notes screen to my vehicle screen and have been frustrated dozens of times over the years that I could never get anything to do it but finally!!! I can mirror Torque and Racing Meter to the cars screen. Big Homer WooHoo! Needless to say I can put up any movie etc I have on the phone and mirror it perfectly well. Technically the unit does an alright job, sound is ok, not great but certainly acceptable to me, in fairness that is possibly due to how I have to get the sound into the car stereo via a Kenwood head unit. Video also is acceptable but once again in all fairness it is more likely the fairly poor spec screen in the car and the way I have to get video into the car screen via a Bluapunkt video processor than the HDMI adapter unit. I am very pleased with the HDMI adapter unit and would buy it again if I needed to, it certainly had to accomplish quite a few things and did them all. Happy camper.

Stopped working after one week of use - after crackling and distorting picture, it turns itself off. This is the third different HDMI to RCA converter (from different vendors) that I have tried with similar short term success.
