Great boat - and here is the trick
Great boat. I have it for about a year and kids enjoy it.And you have to read the instructions on the box - it works in the water, or you have to touch couple sensors on the back side of the boat. But after enjoying it for months I got a problem, and found a trick to solve it.Problem (after few months):- Boat engines DON'T work in the water- But when touching the sensors with finger - the engines work fine. Here is the trick:- take a teeth floss, wrap it couple times around the metal part of propeller axis and "floss" it few times- what it does: this will remove "oxidation" around the axis metal- why this is important: it looks like metal parts of the 2 axis have to be connected by water for electronics to work. But oxidation on the metal blocks this connectivity.- So by "flossing" the metal axis you restore the electronic conductivityI hope this helps many people.

Didn't work, batteries wouldn't charge
The item looks cool enough in photos, but the plastic it is made from is very flimsy (and I question its watertightness). The item we got arrived in a pristine, unopened box, but the rechargeable batteries would not charge and/or the motor was defective and so the item did not work. Given other reviewers' experiences, I would say stay away from this particular RC boat due to the manufacturer's obvious quality control issues. If you do buy one and give it as a gift, see if it will charge or work in advance so you don't give a defective gift (as we did). There is a dearth of good RC boats on the toy market, isn't there? A somewhat similar RC boat that we ended up getting did work well out of the box, and was cheaper was the Ronin Syndicate RC Wakeboard Boat (available locally if not on Amazon).

Great, but..
Arrived in perfect condition. The boat ONLY works if you put it in water. Dot freak out if you take it out of the box and it doesn't work. Works well but only 4 stars because the charger and battery chosen for this boat create EXTREMELY long charging times. Other than that, it's good!

Works Great!
I was reluctant to buy this product since it had so many bad reviews. For the price it seemed to be a good value so I thought I would try it anyways. It has worked perfectly, it goes quite fast and make really cool sharp turns. I got it for my nephew who is enjoying it very much. The instructions indicate the charge lasts 20 minutes but it actually lasts longer, about 30 minutes. The only thing they could improve is to have printed instructions on a sheet instead of the box.

Same Frequencies--Otherwise Nice Boat
I bought two of these boats as surprise gifts for our grandsons' visit this year but I was the one who was surprised. I understood that the colors of the boats could vary between green, blue and red but when I order two of the same product, it's disappointing to be sent two of the same color--where's the fun in that? Amazon Customer Service was quick to rectify the problem expediting another order for two boats which came a day later. This time, I was sent two green boats. The boxes come with a colored dot indicating the boat's color so it's possible to send purchasers different colored boats if an order is for more than one but that's not what's happening. Worse, the boats all have the same frequency so there's no way to race the boats against each other or have two in the water at the same time. The positives: the boats operate well in our pool staying afloat in kid-made waves, etc.

Worked for......oh.....12 minutes
Yeah, the tag line says it all. Charged up fine, but probably lasted about 12 minutes in the pool before the right motor locked into a fully on position despite a. being out of the water, b. not being triggered by the remote. So, had to return it. Its too bad as there is not much out there for the younger child that isn't ready for the speed of the larger boats.Otherwise, I'd say overall bad quality as well. The guard rail is flimsy, not attached to the boat, and pops right out no matter what. The remote feels flimsy too, I'm not confident that it would last much longer in any way.The last note, the safety mechanism where you can test the operation outside of the water by bypassing the resistor on the rear of the boat does not work. I had to put the boat in the sink to make sure it was operational.

One motor not functioning
Boat itself is constructed as expected for the price. Seems like it would last. The remote control looks as though it was made poorly and very sloppy workmanship. For those who mention this arrived dead on arrival I'm wondering if they didn't read the box. It will only operate when placed in water as the water completes the electrical circuit. There are resisters located on the rear of the boat that can be used for testing out of water however in my case it didn't work. Once I placed the boat in the water (swimming pool) it functioned however only one motor was working.Returning but am ordering a replacement. Crossing fingers...

Purchased for 10 year old boy
This boat works great with lots of speed for my grandson who plays with it in his pool. The only concern was when I was initially charging the batteries I tried to check it without putting it in the water by holding the 2 points as instructed. This did not work, but when I put it in the sink it worked perfectly so I was assured that when I gave it to him it would work and it did. He has played with it for several weeks now and it still works.
