VERY disappointing. The sheet was TIGHTLY rolled, the backing was stretched, and the exposed adhesive stuck to the non-adhesive surface and pulled a stripe of it off when unrolled. Ruined the last 8" of the sheet for any use that requires a good appearance. It's a good quality closed-cell foam, but the vendor rolled it up so tight, it's not likely to ever lay flat again. I doubt the adhesive will hold it flat either, it has such a warp to it. All they'd have to do is roll it looser and put it in a larger box. UPDATE: the adhesive is good and sticky, but the foam is delicate and fragile. Cutting it with shears leaves gooey residue on the shears/scissors. Cutting it with a knife leaves a ragged, uneven cut. Pulling the foam away (from being stuck) leaves an ugly black smear behind. In short, this stuff is difficult to work, doesn't look good, and has to be covered up or protected in some way. Disappointing, and I wouldn't buy it again.

Foam seamed okay, but the backing was not the same size as the foam. All the edges of the adhesive were dirty and wouldn't stick properly, or was stuck to the front of the foam when it was rolled up.

I think this sound dampening material is a great value. It performs really well by keeping sound confined. I use it around my subwoofer box in my room & it keeps the base from penetrating the floor beneith me. At first appearance it looks like foam padding but it's way more durable & thicker. It's not hard to cut through but when you do you can tell hoe dense it is. I think it looks alright too. The paper backing peals off so I can stick it anywhere I want & It hold where it sticks. 16 x 60 x1 inches is big enough for my needs. I'd recommend this material if you need sound proofing. 5 stars
