Eight Spinning Plannets...Just Right!
My twins are 2.5 and this book is great for this age group. Not only do they get to learn the names of each planet, but they get to practice reading numbers. The verbiage is short and sweet - with a simple fact about each planet. My daughter likes to stick her hands and fingers through the holes and my son now calls his pinky "Mercury" because he knows it's the smallest one! :)

best planet book around
Had to teach at a preschool as part of a college class. This book had the children's attention. One of the only planets book beautiful and simple enough for preschool. When the children got released to centers they all gathered around the first kid who got his hands on the book and read it again. Not including Pluto as a planet started some heated preschool debate though. It was great to hear the children talk about it.

Wonderful book. My 2 year old loves it!
Very nice book. The planets stick out a bit which is fun for my son and it has a small description of the planet. My son loves this book and knows all his planets!

A hit with our 2 year old
My son is 2 years old and thanks to a book we checked out at the local library, recently obsessed with planets. I came to Amazon to purchase that book, but found this one and it was a hit. Simple language, durable pages, and texture for little fingers to explore all make it a hit.

Good Intro to the planets
I was searching for an age appropriate planet book for my three year old grandson. I found this on Amazon and because of the reviews I purchased it. My grandson has been talking about the planets at his daycare school and couldn't wait to take this book to school to share with his classmates. It is an excellent book for anyone looking for a first book on planets for a 3-5 year old.

Great primer for a child just starting to become interested in the solar system
My 4 year old loves this book and requests it all the time. It's not terribly informative, but a great primer for a child just starting to become interested in the solar system.

Ordered this for my daughter after seeing it at the Air & Space Museum. She loves it and at 3 years old now knows all of her planets and can tell them apart!

beautiful book
Absolutely beautiful board book! Great illustrations, very good quality paper and the text is beautifully written. A great way for young children to learn about the planets. I bought it for my 18 month old and he has really enjoyed looking at it and touching the planets. I would highly recommend it and plan to buy this for other children.

Nice way to learn planets for young children
I do really like this book and will now look for similar ones about other subjects. It's not very wordy, just enough to summarize on each planet. It looks lovely and the pictures are great quality. The only down side is that the descriptions are done in rhyme but seems to lose it in some places (fast doesn't rhyme with gas!)
