I've been a Crohn's Disease sufferer for about 3 years now. When it flare ups, I end up spending a lot of time in the bathroom - sometimes 8-10 trips a day. Because of that, I have developed both internal and external hemorrhoids which can sometimes become very swollen and highly irritated - almost torturous. For awhile, Tucks and Preparation H were sufficient to make things livable, but eventually the irritation escalated to the point I needed to look elsewhere for relief. I tried the Mayinglong Musk Hemorrhoids Ointment sold here on Amazon. It actually worked better than the Preparation H - the swelling went down significantly and the irritation seemed to reach a tolerable stage, but the odor many users spoke of in reviews was just too overpowering. Overpowering to the point I didn't feel going out in public while using it was a good idea. And the smell seemed to linger at home as well - especially in the laundry hamper and the trash where I was disposing of the rubber gloves I used to apply it. So, I went back to Amazon searching for something else and came across Alleviate. With only 4 reviews I was very skeptical and hesitant to give it a try especially at the $29.95 price point it was being offered at. But all 4 reviews were 5 star and I was desperate for a solution so decided to give it a shot. Glad I did. This stuff is amazing. I had immediate relief the first night I used it. Overnight, my hemorrhoids shrunk down to a size I haven't experienced in a very long time. And the itching was gone. I continued to use it for the next 3-4 days and saw improvement in all areas. I'm to the point now where I don't believe there can be any further improvement, but I'm hesitant to stop using it - the cooling, soothing effect it has is so pleasant and such a relief. The fact it is 100% organic is a plus for someone like me who is already laden with a steady diet of prescriptions and pills to keep my Crohn's Disease in check. And unlike the Chinese Musk product this has a nice scent to it - to me somewhat floral, but by no means overpowering. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, a little of this goes a long way. When I first started using it, I might have been a bit too liberal while squeezing the tube. After a few days, I could see that using less than half of what I did on day one was sufficient enough without losing the effects of the product. To anyone who is considering this, but leery because of the price tag - just do it. Put this in your cart and I promise you that you won't regret it. This stuff is really that good! Update as of March 21, 2014 I just wanted to add that because of the success I've had with this product I have since ordered a second tube and plan on making Alleviate a permanent part of my daily regimen. Alleviate is fantastic and has been a godsend for me. I now have continuous relief from the pain, swelling, and irritation of hemorrhoids. It has enabled me to resume a more normal lifestyle and do many activities I couldn't do before - walking, bike riding, and golf to name a few.

Being pregnant for the first time, I'm hyper-aware of everything that could potentially be toxic or cause poor effects in my growing child. I developed hemorrhoids in my second trimester, and was only able to find creams with parabens in the local stores. I ordered this after my first attempt at a paraben-free cream alternative (Motherlove Rhoid Balm) failed to soothe as much as I'd hoped. I've used a combination of the 2 products for about a week now, with ice packs and the occasional use of the normal Preparation-H when in utter agony, and can report a small decrease in the size and pain/itchiness of the existing hemorrhoids. I luckily did not experience any bleeding, so can't speak to that, but can report a little more comfort in my daily activities thanks to this product. Alleviate has calendula oil, which is supposed to help reduce the swelling, and menthol and peppermint oil which help to cool the area and reduce the itch. I did find that the product stayed solid enough for easy application, but as soon as it was applied it was very messy. I wish that there were a nozzle of some sort for internal application, as it's pretty difficult to get any amount to stay on your finger if you so happen to need interior relief. Due to the oil content of the product, I use a pantyliner in my underwear to prevent any oily messes from appearing on my clothing, but the moisture layer of the liner often dissociates from the liner itself and sticks to the irritated area, which can tickle and cause its own issues. As mentioned above, I did have to supplement some with normal hemorrhoid cream when the itch was stronger than Alleviate could handle, and I resorted to the relief of lidocaine. I often use the Rhoid Balm in the middle of the day when my bum can't handle any more cold, and to provide a general lubrication to the area, and use the Alleviate at night or the early part of the day when I'm getting started. I also used these wedge ice packs (Hemorrwedges; also available on Amazon) that have been an utter god-send. These combined products have made life bearable over the last week or so. Alleviate is far more expensive than I'd normally pay for a medical product that isn't a prescription, and is full of essential oils and other natural products that I'm skeptical about, but given the pregnancy, I decided it was worth trying. I wasn't disappointed, but definitely needed to supplement with normal products a few times.

I have been having hemorrhoids and fissure problem for years! I underwent a surgery just a year back but unfortunately it couldn't resolve totally. I still have an external component along with an internal one. All folks with similar symptoms would know how much a normal life gets compromised for this which otherwise would have been great!! :) The doctors recommended me another surgery (a hemorrhoidectomy) this time but somehow the timing hasn't arrived to go through the hell yet. So, a good option till then is to use any good creams that I can use regularly to reduce flares, bleeding and to stay asymptomatic as much as I can. I have used Mayinglong for weeks and it works too (the smell sometime overwhelms though) but I was looking for something more natural and organic which can help me concentrate on my work on a regular basis. Then I found this product with probably very reviews. I never had to look back. I like it's smell, very nice and it does help me a lot! Well I can't say that it has cured me which is probably impossible. Be realistic folks!.... Having said that I would say, this product really helps me every day and night from pain, discomfort, prortrusion and itching. This is a great product by Naticura except for such a high price on it! I am a regular user of it. It becomes expensive! Another thing is, I would probably prefer syringes along with it as well.

I thought I would never write a review regarding my hemorrhoids but because this product does wonders to me, I had to write something to let everyone know how successful this product is. I have been suffering from hemorrhoids the past 15 years along with possible anal fissures and fistulas. Let's just say it's not a pretty sight down there. I have tried many types of treatments from Preparation H, to the US version of preparation H, topical steroid creams, (which all didn't help much, and also, I went to see a surgeon. I was a bit worried about the post operative pain if I took the surgery route, so I decided to defer that. Also, the surgeon suggested I take Metamucil each day which really helped with the hemorrhoids the past two years. Just recently, a bad case of stomach flu had flared up my hemorrhoids to the point that I wasn't able to sit down. I was extremely worried because they were so inflammed. So I started my search again for the best hemorrhoid cream. There wasn't much review on this product on the Canadian site, so I read more reviews on Amazon.com American site. Because I was so worried and the pain was almost unbearable, I purchased on a next day delivery which costed around $45 total. When it arrived in the mail, I couldn't get the cream out of the tube (but the temperature outside was -5C). I waited for a few hours, and voila, I was able to get the cream out. The reason why I mentioned this was because another reviewer said he couldn't get the cream out of the tube despite the thaw. When I squeezed the cream out, it had a grainy texture, but the smell was wonderful! Smells like minty flowers of some sort. When I applied the cream, seems like the grains had melted. The initial application felt cool, and I immediately noticed my butt felt more soothing. The instructions mentioned that I have to apply at least six times per day and after each bowel movement. I was dedicated to try this. I also noticed that the cream doesn't leave that oily stain on my underwear like with Preparation H. Sometimes the stain will go through to my pants with Prep H. So it's been about 5 days of daily routine application with Alleviate, and my hemorrhoids shrank 50%! My anus is starting to look normal! The pain is very minimal, and the itch is gone. I am going to add this to my daily regimen probably for life. The cost is expensive, but because I suffered for more than 15 years, this product is worth it. For anyone who is hesitant to buy this product, don't be! Get one bottle, and give this a try. Just remember, if it's cold outside, the cream won't come out. And, expect the cream to have a grainy texture. The heat from the skin will melt the grains to have a more even spread. WOW, I just got a response from Naticura. That's great service! About the grainy texture and affect on the product because of the large temperature swings, they suggested this: "The stiffness will often respond to a quick tube 'massage', but we have another idea, which will fully restore your Alleviate to its original vitality...so here’s another tip; Fill a glass or a mug with the hottest water you can squeeze out of your tap (without burning yourself!) Fully immerse your Alleviate tube in the hot water, and leave it sit for 45 minutes, or at least until the water gets back to room temperature. Voila! This simple technique will restore the ingredient harmony, and eliminate any compromise to the blend, that might have occurred through exposure to harsh weather in shipping or storage." Really appreciate this amazing product.I got this product for my uncle who has been suffering from the pain for years. My mom asked me if I can find some natural solutions for him because he already tried many medicines. I found this on Amazon and wanted to give it a shot because the ingredients are all natural and organic, especially no chemicals which is really rare nowadays. I opened it and can smell the herbal ingredients, a fresh and healing smell.It helps my uncle relieve the pain and discomfort a lot, now he doesn’t need to worry or suffer from pain daily, and he is very satisfied with Alleviate Hemorrhoid Treatment. Considering the privacy of this issue, it is a blessing to get this great product online. After using this cream for a while and with some professional suggestions of health food habit, his symptoms have changed noticeably. Product is really good. However, it arrived with an expiration date that is just a month from delivery. Considering I paid about $30 CA and probably won't use all 50 ml of it by the time it's expired feels like I lost some money there. Also would like to note that the ingredients are very simple and inexpensive, which I like, but does not justify the overall price. If I come across a similar product with lesser cost I would probably go with the other one.

This stuff is unbelievable! Definitely all natural; at least it smells like it ... And it has surpassed my expectations. I have tried every single product that exists for the obvious problem and results have been frustrating to say the least. I will use and recommend this product to all whom confess with a huge smile!!! And one more thing I'm sensitive to many products,,, at first I thought I reacted to it badly, but that was the cream working it's magic. After first use = Heaven for my bottom. TMI I know...
