The Recover HC11 Active Retention 1911 Holster is designed to hold any 1911 that uses the Recover CC3H or CC3P grip and rail systems. The holster allows for a natural draw, and is compatible with most pistol rail mounted accessories on the market. Passive Retention holds the gun in place and will allow you to draw the firearm simply by pulling with a little extra force. Will work on Commander and Full Sized 1911's that have the ReCover CC3H or CC3P mounted (both available here on ). The holster has a removable 360 degree swivel paddle, and there are other mounting options available. The HC11 is compatible with the IMI Defense mounting system and they offer belt, molle, and drop leg mounts. The ReCover Grip and Rail Systems have proven to be the most stable rail solutions on the market as well as the most popular, and are easily installed on your gun and under 3 minutes. The high-grade, lightweight, glass reinforced polymer ReCover can be installed without the need for a gunsmith, and requires no permanent modifications to be made to your firearm.

Good Holster - UPDATES
*UPDATE TO THE REVIEW BELOW* I received this holster and it seemed to be missing some hardware. Recover Tactical saw my review as well as my YouTube review of it and immediately contacted me about it. They showed very good customer support and service and sent me the missing hardware ASAP. After the hardware was installed the holster became a lot more sturdy. I appreciate the support given by Recover Tactical.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bought this to use with my GSG 1911 .22Lr but I've only had this for a few days so I will be writing another review a few months down the road after some more extensive use. This seems to be a well built holster but I'm gonna start off with a few complaints. 1. It has some play and wiggle room. It has more than I think it should have because there is excessive room inside in my opinion (shown in pics.) I don't know why RT made it with so much extra room inside since all GI model 1911's are the same. Maybe to keep the marring of the slide down? I'm not for certain. 2. On mine, at the bottom of the muzzle area, where the two molds on the holster meet on the underneath side, it is not connected. (shown in pics) Yet, there is a hole where it seems a screw should be holding it together. Maybe it supposed to be that way? Not sure but to me that weakens it even more. However, that's something I can easily fix myself. Now I'll get to the good. The draw is very clean and smooth. The retention button is easily pushed to activate the release, followed up with a nice crisp and clean draw. So no complaints there. The re holstering is a tad messy though. Because of the previously stated extra room and play in the holster, it makes it difficult to get the handgun in the correct position to allow the retention button to click into place on the grips and secure the firearm. Not a huge issue though. In other things, everything else is made out of durable polymer- even the paddle is nice. (I don't know why people complained about the paddle so much.) Over all, its a decent holster, but to me its pricey for what it is. For $60 bucks, I expected more out of it and not the issues I stated above. However, I suppose its possible that I got a "bad apple" from the bushel. I hope Recover Tactical sees this review and can make some improvements on their product. I believe that it could be a fantastic holster with a few adjustments. Overall, I do recommend it since this is one of the very few holster that will allow for the Recover Tactical grips AND an attachment. *NOTE* The paint job on the grips is a CUSTOM one I did myself. It is not an available option by RT. Didn't want that to add confusion.

Really nice..
Really nice... except if you have an extended slide release your weapon will not fully seat into the holster.I had to pull out my Dremel and cut a slot for the slide release. It would also be nice if you could adjust the amount of retention tension. While it seems fine if you have a light or laser on the front of your weapon, without anything mounted, I would have liked a little more tension.Overall the combo of ReCover Tactical 's rail system and holster is surprisingly well made and sturdy. I do feel however prices are a little on the high side. Maybe they should offer a discount if you buy the rail and holster at the same time.

Great, but be wary of width and mount type of your accessories
Great holster specifically for the grip system. It does allow holstered with mounted light or laser, however, certain types are a problem. The bottom is free, but if your accessory is too wide, it can be difficult to holster and draw. I had a spring attach/detach light that would pop off when used. I love it for ease of draw, but leave my accessories at home when I go to the range.

Works great after a small tweak.
I just received mine and I had a bit of trouble that a previous buyer had where the active retention system would hang up the draw of the gun. I was able to resolve the issue by sanding down the retention pin on the opposite side of the active retention pin. Now it works just fine for me. I do need to get a different tactical light since the screws on my current one stick out too far. It is a Pursuit 190 lumen from Bass Pro shops. It is basically an exact clone of the iprotec light.

Great product!
Love the holster. I'll point out first that the holster has rubberized trigger guards that are designed to fold over to accommodate your rail accessory. I had to bend mine to and fro a little bit but then drawing and holstering became a lot easier afterwards. My holster came in a few pieces that were pretty straight forward to assemble and included the allen wrench needed.

Great product Just Not EXACTLY what I ordered and PAYED FOR!!!!
I like the overall design and feel of the holster and rail system... which is why i purchased it to begin with. Problem is I ordered the "PASSIVE Retention" holster and received the "ACTIVE retention" version with the button that does not make it a smooth and easy, FAST draw! Which completely defeats the Overall Purpose !

Read some professional reviews.
Exactly what I expected. But, they were right, and this item may not fit some Rock Island 1911s(without some modification to the grips).
