Islamic Geometric Patterns Paperback – 1 January 2008

This is the book that I was exactly looking for.The Author has clearly explained the various patterns with step by step illustrations which are easy to follow.Cant wait to start drawing patterns on my journal.Going to buy other books from the Author too.Thank you so much Eric.

The book is Ok but falls short of expectations. It only illustrates a few patterns step by step, but does not teach the basics of Islamic Geometry, nor does it teach how can one create more such patterns on their own. Basically, only good for beginners who like things explained in a simple steps.

Wunderbar gestaltetes Buch, das Lust macht, sich näher mit islamischen Designs auseinanderzusetzen. Das Level ist eher advanced, die Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitungen verständlich. Kein Buch, um es Seite für Seite schnell zu verschlingen... Ich werde mir in den Weihnachtsferien ein Muster näher anschauen und dies in Ruhe analysieren und genießen. Eher als Meditationsübung, um den Alltagsstress zu vergessen... Geometrie hat immer etwas Tröstliches und Entschleunigendes. Selfcare im besten Sinn.

Na primeira parte do livro o autor enfoca as principais técnicas dos desenhos islâmicos de forma breve, direta e essencial. Na segunda parte ele apresenta vários motivos encontrados em obras dos países eminentemente islâmicos. Para quem gosta desse tipo de desenho, recomendo o livro.

Le livre est très clair dans les étapes à suivre. Les formes sont magnifiques donc il suffit d'avoir un morceau de papier, un compas, une latte et un crayon et c'est bon !
