I purchased the same brand for myliftgate and was very satisfied with the product. They don't come with instructions, but there are plenty of available installation instructions online. Basically, take something to support the hood, use a medium sized screwdriver to remove the C shaped retainer rings, and the strut simply pops off by pulling it off the ball and sockett attachment points. The installation is very quick and easy once you see how to do it. Some people recommend cleaning off the ball mount and applying some white lithium grease to it. If you don't have that, I would just leave the existing factory grease as is. It don't come with any grease. I hope this was helpful. Highly recommend product. The hood stays up in its fully opened position with no issues.

Good price for a functional, easy-to-install product

I ordered this set of struts a couple of years ago, and they have worked perfectly. Now my wife's 2013 RX350 needs a replacement. I've had such a good experience with the first set that I've ordered them a second time. Good quality and price, and easy to install.

These fit my wife’s RX-350 Lexus perfectly, saved me hundreds of dollars compared to what the stealership wanted to charge for them and the install. Watched a YouTube video for reference and replaced them both in under 15 minutes. Would have gave them 5 stars but only had them installed for about a month, and really don’t open the hood that much in a short amount of time.

These front hood supports arrived today and were installed on my 10 year old RX350 about 10 minutes after they arrived. Hardest part was prying off the clips on the old, worn-out struts. Look at You Tube for demonstrations on how to do that. You don't need to save the old clips, so just use a flat blade screwdriver and a small hammer and pop them right off. Contrary to some reviews, you don't need to do anything other than pop the new ones on. No need to loosen the clips on the new ones (in fact, I think that would be a really bad idea). These even have a little dab of grease pre-installed in each socket that then pops on the 'ball' joints attached to the hood. Just give a little shove with the palm of you hand and you get a nice satisfying click when the sockets seat on the ball. And boy are these things 'tight'. You now need to give a really good pull to bring the hood back down to close it. No rating for longevity since these were just installed. The old ones were 10+ years old. It was so easy to change them out that if the new ones only lasted a few years, no problem. And the price is 90% less than the Lexus dealer wanted to install a new set. Even if you have only minimal mechanical aptitude you will find this an easy DIY job.

These work grate and they're easy to install. So glad my hood doesn't fall on my head anymore. Look well made, can't comment on durability.
