Wear a good dust mask before you open it
Once I got it open and unfolded I realized I need a dust mask. I used a 3M Aura dust mask, use something snug fitting, the fiber glass dust starts floating right away, wear gloves as well.I measured the height and circumference of my hot water heater then laid out the fiberglass blanket on the floor and cut about a foot off. I used cutco scissors to cut it.I had to snug it behind my water heater, there was maybe only an inch or so, then cut a slit to accommodate the gas line. I didn't use the tape that came with it. I used some 3in 3M foil tape I had. I just used 4 pieces to hold it together, I didn't use a piece all the way down the seam like it suggested and it worked just fine that way.So, it seems to work with cooler temps in the basement. Maybe next time I'll try out one of the non fiber glass options.

Does the trick
Appears well-made and was an easy installation. There was enough tape to get the heater wrapped and happy, too. I have no actual numbers to post about, but common sense says that a water heater that stays warmer longer results in a lower gas bill. And just FYI - don't be an imbecile like me and fail to roll this thing out completely to be familiar with its orientation. I didn't, and then cut it to size, only to find out that it's rolled at its width, not its height. (Duh) Also, for extra credit, don't be an imbecile like me and cut the long strips of tape that come packaged inside it either, take them out first. (Double-duh.)

Highest R rating I could find - Insulation is not fun to work with
I picked this up to insulate my 50 gallon electric hot water heater after I was told by my utility it could save $10 per month. Do I believe that? Not really, but why not give it a shot. Water heater has years of life left, so why not?It came packed well, but was not easy to manipulate to move and install. I did get the larger one to put around my tank to make sure it was fully covered, which it did.The big problem with the product is the tape, it is terrible. I started to use it, tape didn't stick, tossed it to the side. I had another name brand tape already, so I used that. You will need your own tape to make this work.Overall, glad I put this on, hopefully it does work well and reduces power consumption.

The blanket is great, the tape is not.
The blanket covers my tank with ease. I had ordered seperate foil tape, and was surprised to find about 6 feet of tape included with the blanket. I used both kinds of tape, and am glad I did. The included tape let go within hours, some of it within minutes. Wear a mask when unwrapping & installing the blaket, or you’ll be breathing in fiberglass shards. Enjoy the increased efficiency of your hot water heater, but be sure to get some auxilliary foil tape - it will become the main tape.

Very high quality product!!
I installed this myself, and it was not easy, but it says clearly there should be two installers!! I am very, very pleased with the quality of the blanket, and tape. Easy to install (considering I was alone), and the provided tape is easy to apply. My water heater is snug as a bug in a rug! Take THAT PG&E!!😂

Hazardous to use
After removing the insulation blanket from the packaging, we were faced with a raw piece of fiberglass and a piece of foil, which were not connected to each other. And the fiberglass immediately started to release loose fibers into the air - onto our clothing, onto our skin and into our lungs. We started to itch and cough. The warning signs about the health danger of this product were placed in small letters in the upper corner of the packaging and was inconspicuous and diffucult to read. This kind of product should be sold with foil adhering to fiberglass so that it will protect the end user from breathing the fibers into their lungs. We want our money back!

Good product at a good price.
Was a bit difficult for me to install alone, with all the piping and other things around my water heater. I'ts not pretty but I'm sure it's helping a little to keep hot water costs a little lower.

Good Tape & A Friend
It's a two person job and worth investing in a high quality aluminum tape. The outer sheathing is very delicate and once it rips all the aesthetic is hard to get back. I'll be going with a different one. Also, working with fiberglass is a pain. Make sure you have the right equipment if you're going to do so.

excellent product
the Frost King SP60 insulation blanket arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I is a well made product and easy to install. The insulation is a bit itchy so i would recommend gloves , mask and one of those disposable suits as you will get covered in the stuff. the tape it comes with is of high quality and there is enough to do the job however a few more feet of the stuff would have been nice. If you run into the problem of not enough tape or feel like you want to use more tape around the pipes and what not like I did I would use the foil tape that is used for duct work.

It is possible to install
The instructions are OK although the pictures are the biggest help. I found the foil strong enough that it was not breaking as others have reported. The tape is just enough to do the side, but I had to use duct tape to do the top of the electric hot water heater. Don't go crazy with trying to get it very tight against the tank, otherwise you probably will break the foil. The yellow insulation works good although if it gets in your nose you will know it the rest of the day. The dust gets on everything. It has a better r value which is why I got this instead of the other products. It is just big enough to surround the tank.

Great price for R10 rating
Simple and easy to install, but fiberglass matting will shed lots of giberglass dust (cheaper quality) so wear the propper protective clothes and gloves. Maybe even get more aluminum tape to finish wrap with as inclosed amount is just enough to do the job. Good quality overall and a must for hot water heaters put in basements. If you don't like fiberglass dust buy another type, but for the low price and excellent value for R10 rating, you cant go wrong!
