So slow its almost useless for backing up photos to sd card. Even using class 10 cards.

Works as described, but when I try to unplug it the metal case tries to slide off the plastic. Like some internal plastic clip broke. This happened the first time I used it. (Tight fit on the connector). So I had to tape it up to keep it secure. For the price I did expect better in build quality. But it does work with my 64gig microsd... Just looks like something I made in the basement now that its taped up. Oh well.

This is a great thing to have for iPhones to transfer data on the go. Originally I attempted to use a 64GB sd card to transfer, and I always got an error. Upon further investigation, I figured out that this has to use a fat32 format on the sd card to transfer, which the 64GB card does not use. Once I popped in a 16GB card, I had no problem whatsoever. It does take some getting used to and it does require the download of an app to use it. And it does take quite a bit of time for larger video files. Also, it does drain your iPhone battery very quickly, and seeing that you can't charge and transfer at the same time since it uses the same port, make sure you have a full battery first! It doesn't work exactly like a thumb drive would, but it is the next best thing.

I bought this product to check my cards on game cams. It works, but is very, very slow. It doesn't provide a quick preview, so if you are looking for this purpose I would recommend a digital camera.

Excellent item. Blazing fast if you get a high speed card (I've a 8G).Won't connect on iPhone 6 with an Otterbox case without a 30pin to lightning adaptor (which I already owned).

First thing to know about this device is that it has no storage capacity of its own. It simply connects an SD card or some other storage device to your iPhone, iPad, computer, etc. Second is that it requires an app to use, but on the first use of the device it walks you through the process of downloading it and setting everything up. The app (or device, I can't tell which) is a little quirky in how it organizes files. For example, if you transfer a folder with a set of files named xx1, xx2, xx3 .... xx10, it will display the files in the folder as xx1, xx10, xx2, xx3... For some reason, it can't seem to get the alphanumeric organization right. Also, files (at least within a folder) are organized only in alpha order. You can't choose to sort them by date or manually. While I can see some reasons for using this device, I think that Drop Box and iCloud minimize them. But when you do need or want some extra storage or to transfer files to/from and iPad or iPhone without wifi connection, this device works quite well.Updated 6/20/15... The software/app needed to make this thing work was recently updated. After installing the update, the device no longer works at all. It is past the date when it can be returned so I'm just stuck with this useless device.
