Love this vacuum.
I have an older Dyson vacuum and it definitely needed to be replaced. I finally decided to replace it and because I have owned many Bissell over the last 40 odd years. I like that Bissell gives to dog charities for every purchase. I like the vacuum is light and easy to use and does a wonderful job picking up everything. I put it together in about a minute and vacuumed a 4x4 section of carpet twice that was vacuumed with my old Dyson first. Wow, it picked up a full canister and a half of dirt, cat hair and dog hair!😬

Ultimate power!
OMG I think i’ve never had a good vacuum before. This one has so much power it changed the color of my carpet. First pass completely filled the tank where my old vacuum wouldn’t pick anything else up. The tank is super easy to take out and empty (all one enclosed piece). My old vacuum had three parts that fit together and all of them ended up with dirt in them despite the filters so this vacuum is so much cleaner and easier. It’s super easy to maneuver. It picks up all the fine pet hair that my old vacuum passed over. My only small peeve is that the accessories fall off of their posts easily. But really great vacuum for the price.

Excellent choice, get it!
Although I can't attest to its durability as I've only used it once, I CAN say that it picked up every speck of dust on all my surfaces, including a shag rug! I learned that I should have stopped midway to clean it out, there was so much dust, fuz and dirt inside. It's great, lightweight, easy to assemble and very efficient. And not pricey.

Great vacuum overall
I’ve only had the vacuum a week, but here are the pros and cons so far: Pros: Powerful suction. We have 2 dogs, one sheds a lot, and it picks up all of the hair with no problem. Really easy to move around and picks up dirt and pet hair in hard to reach places, like corners and along baseboards. Attachments work great on the couch to grab dog hair, the best I’ve found for that so far. I also love how easy it is to retract the cord. Cons: Doesn’t have a light. My old vacuum had one and it made it a lot easier to see the dirt on my dark floor. Very loud. Yes, the suction works extremely well but a little too well over thinner rugs (like the machine washable kind), even on the highest height adjustment. I usually have to ask someone to stand on the other side of the rug so it doesn’t suction it up and ruin it.

I think you should get it.
We moved in our new house with no vacuum cleaner and have been using the Dreame robot this whole year that we’ve been year, and we have 3 dogs, and 3 cats. Needless to say the $1,000+ robot just isnt that good. I wanted a vacuum. A real one. This is on the cheaper side which I like. I thought the reviews were pretty good and after a few comparisons with other vacuums I went with this one because of the suction strength which to me is very important for pet hair. I just got done vacuuming for approximately 2 hours. Heres my take! I started in the kitchen on hardwood floors, and it did pretty good. Theres also a thin carpet in there, and when I went over it the vacuum tried to suck the carpet up. There isnt a lower suction setting than the one meant for bare floors, so I had to keep moving the carpet to get certain areas without it grabbing the rug. It does great picking up clumps of dog hair but there were a few pet hairs left behind. I’m not upset about that because pet hair is extremely hard to fully remove. For this price point I wasnt expecting perfection I just wanted a vacuum that actually cleans our home and it does that. The vacuum head swivels but it has a larger, boxy head, so it doesnt fit well into tight spaces. It does turn, but it can’t fully get into smaller places simply because the head itself isn’t very small. The weight is medium for me (I don’t lift weights, so take that for what it’s worth). Changing the filter is very easy, and emptying the dust basket is also quick and simple. The suction on the hose itself feels a little light, but that’s been my experience with most vacuums, so I wasn’t shocked by that. Overall, for the price, I think it’s worth it. It definitely sucks things up very well, and after relying on a robot vacuum that couldn’t keep up with our pets, this feels like a solid, practical purchase.

It’s a beast!!
I have always used either a central vac system or the smaller vacuum brooms. Was seeing WAYYY too much pet hair collecting along the walls and really just got tired of not having enough suction or a larger holding container. I’m so glad I went with this vacuum, it has made a huge difference in the amount hair that comes up and it swivels to fit under some low furniture I have where those dust bunnies hang out. Moves very easily, not super heavy, and the cord length is adequate so that I’m able to do one room at a time without pulling the plug out. It came with an array of tools to help with certain attachments but I haven’t even tried those out yet; for now I’m thrilled to have a powerful push vacuum, sucks up the pet hair like a beast and has different settings to adjust to floor or rug pile height. Very satisfied so far, but I haven’t had it long…..does an incredible job on what I got it for and the rest of the tools have me covered from furniture to ceiling so I’m more than happy!

A Vacuum That Actually Lives Up to Its Claims
The Bissell 2254 CleanView Swivel Rewind delivers the kind of performance that immediately proves whether a vacuum is worth its footprint, and this one absolutely is. The swivel steering moves with precision, letting you thread around furniture without the usual wrestling match. Suction is strong and consistent, pulling embedded debris and pet hair out of carpet fibers you’d swear were already clean. The brush roll stays engaged without scattering debris, and the edge-to-edge pickup actually reaches into corners instead of pretending to. The automatic cord rewind is a small but meaningful quality‑of‑life upgrade—tap the button and the cord disappears without the usual coiling and dragging. The dirt tank empties cleanly, the filters are easy to access, and the included pet tools have enough real bite to handle upholstery and stairs. If you want a vacuum that performs reliably, handles smoothly, and feels engineered for real homes with real messes, the 2254 earns its spot.

Good vacuum for picking up pet hair.
I like that it picks up pet hair. I thought my Kirby was doing a good job until I vacuumed right behind it with this Bissell vacuum cleaner and picked up a full canister of hair and dust. It is lightweight and doesn't take up much space. It is a good quality and price. My only complaint is that it tends to tip over when using the hose attachment to vacuum furniture, and the hose could be longer.
