The remote works well from a distance of about 10-15ft if you have clear line of sight with the sensor.

A tension rod and some ribbon wrap the tension rod with the ribbon first as you were wrapping and the lights and it looks beautiful

Q: Can I use it for outdoor decoration and how frequent i need to change batteries

Yes you can! No batteries needed it has a cord to plug into an outlet. I used it for a party outdoors and kept it outside.
