Should have bought it sooner. Took a moment to get used to but simply to use.
Glad I bought it. I debated getting one for months. I was tired of greasy finger prints finding their way onto places they didn't belong and I was drying out the skin on my hands washing grease off. It's not magic but it is a minor game changer if you maintain your own bikes. It makes reapplying grease a breeze. No on and off with gloves, no messy jar with a messy brush in it, just this.I do a lot of mountain biking in dusty/dry to wet/muddy. It's hardly ever above 100 degrees Fahrenheit or below freezing when I ride so it's easy for me to get away with using one grease. Occasionally I'll use a Slick Honey. If I used a lot of different types of high end grease I'd probably consider getting a couple fancy syringes for it. I don't and this seems more durable in the long run so I got this.I think that it is intended to be filled with a plastic tube of grease, like the 4 ounce tube that Park Tool sells.I filled it with grease from a tub with a spoon. I imagine squeezing out the contents of a 4 ounce tube into it would have been easier but scooping with a spoon wasn't a hassle. It does make me wish Park Tool would make a large 16 ounce tube rather than just a 16 ounce tub. Or something that fit into a caulking gun. I write this because it seems grease guns are for those who use a lot of grease, want precision, and reduced mess. If you're using a lot of grease then it makes sense to buy it in bulk and it's a little messier to load it into the grease gun if it is in a tube. I don't think this really affects the performance or value of the tool. But a resealable tube that fit a caulking gun really would be nice and probably not to difficult to make.

Lovely tool
Does exactly what it needs to do and nothing more. Not sure what else to say other than “this is it.” Pleased.

Works as advertised but isn't perfect.
I purchased a similar grease gun years ago for PPL-1 grease and loved it. Then I found out Park Tool also offered one and just happened to have need to store HPG-1 as well. I figured I'd go with it because what better to house the blue grease than one with Park Tool colors.Upon receiving it I noticed that it lacks a base at the bottom that my other canister has. Furthermore the bottom piece in the canister isn't a perfect fit. When I pushed it up to get the air out after filling with grease, I found that grease easily pushed past the base and out the bottom. I found that it still squirts grease well but that bottom piece could be a little better.

Not just for bicycles.
I used it to grease the bearing on a Stihl fs-40 gas string trimmer. One thing the instructions tell you is don't bottom out the plunger or it could stick.

Park Tool
Its Park Tool, which is often viewed as the best of the best for bicycle tools, lubricants and compounds. Lives up to the hype, and is very good.
