One Bass Fishing Reels Level Wind Trolling Reel Conventional Jigging Reel for Saltwater Big Game Fishing

I was a little skeptical buying these reels with the fear that they would be a cheap knock off. But I gave it them a try since replacement parts for my Shimano Charter Special TR-2000LD cost as much as the One Bass reel brand new.First some clarifications...the housing of these reels is not aluminum as implied in the pictures. It is mostly plastic? graphite? with some anodized parts in the handle. And some metal parts in the handle that are painted to look anodized.I transferred my spectra fishing line from the Shimano and could tell immediately that the One Bass did not have the smoothness or precision of the Shimano. But the action was good enough to give it a try.I was able to put the reel to the test yesterday morning off of Marblehead, MA. The lever to engage free spool seems to stick a little and I frequently had to adjust the spool position with my thumb before engaging free spool. An annoyance, but not a deal breaker. The smoothness of the drop of my jig to 120 feet was good enough. The smoothness of reeling in was fine. I caught 4 decent sized cod fish, some macks, and some pollock.For the price, I am more than satisfied. This is not the quality of a Penn or Shimano. But it is good enough for saltwater game fishing. I will revisit this post once I have some hours on the reel to test its durability.Update July 30, 2018: I've been catching a LOT of fish on this reel and it is performing great. Deep sea cod fishing on Stellwagen drop offs....no problem. Big stripers on mack chunks...piece of cake. Not a single sign of wear or corrosion. I'm upgrading my review from 4 stars to 5 stars. This reel is worth every penny compared to other products out there.

I went fishing and the reel did it's job it was a pleasure to use it and it was a talking point for some reason people would ask me where I got and what I paid. Lol 😅 they thought I paid hundreds of dollars. 😂 So far so good. I need to order a smaller one next so it looks like I'm going with One Bass again

This is my first review: This reel is totally worthless. There is no way to lock it and if you catch anything you can’t bring it up. Unfortunately i tried it a ling time after i bought it and can’t return it. Do not buy itThen a friend of mine said that the problem is the line I used was braided and I should use nylon first and then attach the braided. The result was amazing. It is a great reel. I got two more. If the seller had responded to my first review and had advised me to start with nylon line, it would have helped me and I would not leave a bad review. The reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is the luck of response.

First time I used this Reel was on an Okuma longtide 9FT 3-6 oz the line was hurclues 60lb 250yd braid and 50yd Yo- Zuri florocarbon , I caught. A thorn back ray off of a pier 25ft above water level. Had no problem bringing it up out of the water. Great reel! Heads up the star drag does take man hands to get the full 30lb drag on TA4000. Not bad though once you know.

So i got this after reading the reviews. I was very excited getting my package like a kid at christmas. The un boxing went well good packaging came with a bag for the reel a very nice touch.It spooked up nice and then it went south.The instructions yalk about being able to put the rod clamp on after it is spooled up...well the screws they sent me are not set tohave that ability. My penn does...i am trying the reel tonight it seems a bit less than what you want in a slat water environment.I hope the manufacture reads this and makes it right if so AND there are no perfomance issues i will update my rating. I read in another review the manufacture was good at doing the right thing...we will see. I gave it 2 stars soley on the packaging.Ok so its less than 24 hours on a weekend so i cant comment on the manufacture response. However i used the reels last night and landed teo of the biggest fish of my life. A 63 and 53 lbd striped bass these are fish of a lifetime . I was thankful for the amount of mono i had brcause of these reels. However while the did work and could be used againg ,im going out to get two penns today. These reels are cheaply made. The crank handel bent and impeded the ability to crank. I am thankful that was after i got the fish landed. And because its sooo flimsy i was easily able to ben it back to make it work. Because of the other ossue not being able to blace the clamp on my attention wasnt 100 on fighting the fish i kept getting worried it the real going to come off.While these reels will work, my experience is enough for me to not reccomend these at all. Save your money and buy a penn squall its cost a little more but is 100 times better.

Bought this reel and had an issue about 9 months later where a gear lost some teeth because of a loose screw. I provided my order number and a pic and with no further questions, they are sending a brand new reel as a replacement. That's just amazing and I will definitely be purchasing other product from the seller. Thanks Zhifu Trade Co. Ltd!!

The thread of the bolts do not match the screws. The screws broke during marriage, therefore I had to outsource other screws. I would not recommend this reel. Not expected.
