I have had a few of these gadgets, and I have been mostly unsatisfied with them. In the case of this one, from Rocketek, it now looks different to the one I bought in 2015. That one worked ok for a while, and now it just doesn't keep a good connection to its plugged-in devices. I have to press them hard into the seat every day or two, just so the device can turn on.I think that overall, this style of 12v outlet is a poor connector for 12-volt applications. It is, after all, designed for a pop-up cigarette lighter. I dream of a day when they adopt a better standard, such as USB-C. Until then, we will continue to struggle with these things.I don't know why it doesn't work any more. Maybe if I use fine sandpaper to rough-up the metal surfaces it will help. Or maybe there is an intermittent internal connection. Either way, the construction is poor, and you will never get reliable service out of these things.Mine has a rubber cap on each outlet, which only gets in the way when in use. Instead of putting that, how about improving the quality of the electrical connection.I'm going to toss this one in the trash, and order another (different) one, in the hope that it will work better. I also have the one from Lihan, which has a similar issue with intermittent connection. It's not clear whether the issue is poor construction, or that this cigarette-lighter connection is just expected to be that way. Maybe you can do better with a brand-name like Belkin. As a consumer, I don't have the luxury of trying them all, so just pick one and hope for the best.
