Item Package Quantity:3 Kim Crawford Marlborough Pinot Gris wine is pale gold in colour, this wine has a delightfully aromatic nose of pear, quince jelly, and honeysuckle. On the palate, there are fresh, crisp pears with a generous mouth feel. Elegant and supple, this is a wine that delivers lingering flavours of warm, spicy fruit and a bright, clean finish. These grapes were sourced predominantly from the Wairau and Awatere sub-regions of Marlborough, New Zealand. All the vines were cane pruned to the VSP (vertical shoot position) trellis system. A number of the blocks had multiple harvest dates to provide differing flavour spectrums, while still retaining fresh, lively acidity.2012 was a challenging vintage, with a cool spring and summer meaning late flowering, which was thankfully followed by a much needed Indian summer, and long autumn ripening period. Yields were significantly down on 2011, but quality was excellent. Classic conditions for the intense fruit flavours which made Marlborough famous.Machine harvested at night, the grapes were crushed and direct pressed immediately. After settling the juice was inoculated with a pure yeast strain. The wine was tank fermented and went through partial malolactic fermentation. Oxidatively handled and cool fermented to dryness using five selected yeast strains to ensure that the fruit was profiled and fresh acidity was maintained, the wine was then blended, stabilised, filtered and bottled. It comes with the vintage information as follows: Vintage: 2012; Grape varieties: 100% Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris; Region: Marlborough; Winemaker: Anthony Walkenhorst; Closure: Stelvin; Alcohol (ABV): 13%; Acidity: 6.6g/l; Residual Sugar: 7.8g/l; Wine pH: 3.42.

A good drop - although no quite Alsatian
Does exactly what you would expect of a good Pinot Gris - mouthfilling and hints of spice - so good I drank 3 bottles pretty quickly - would happily recomment to any Pinot Gris or Gewurz lover
