desertcart.com: The Fox's Wedding: A Compendium of Japanese Folklore (Yokai Book 4) eBook : Meyer, Matthew, Meyer, Matthew: Kindle Store Review: The best book for your yokai needs! - Another amazing addition from one of my favorite books series! Art is beautiful, and super informative about various yokai and mysterious phenomenon across Japan. Review: Foxes Take Center Stage In Book 4 of the Must-Have Yokai Encyclopedias - This book of course covers a wide variety of yokai just like the previous three did, but of course the major highlight is the final section at the end detailing more of the different variations of the kitsune, or foxes. If you were like me and thought you already knew all there was to know about the tricky foxes of Japanese folklore, this book will change your mind. Also, as a sign of the times, there's a section of the book covering yokai that could be connected to a pandemic in some way, such as yokai known to foretell disaster as well as a few poisonous yokai and near microscopic ones known to invade the human body. I know I've compared these books to the yokai.com website in a review of at least one of the previous volumes, and in regards to at least one entry in this volume it turns out the website version has a little more information that was left out of the book version. Kind of a surprising lapse in my opinion, but of course nothing is perfect. The only other flaw with this book is once again the price, so I strongly recommend getting the e-book version for those on a serious budget. I'll also close by saying that I very much hope this book is not also the final book in the series.

Wonderfully put together
I love this book and all the other books by this creator. I have three of the books they have made (I think there are 4 total). This book has a picture for each creature or occurrence it describes, name and translation, description, a story associated or reason for the creature etc. it's wonderful. The texture of the pages and outer cover are fantastic too.

Damaged cover but great book
I've tried getting these marks off of the cover but they just won't budge. The actual book itself is great and I recommend it which is why I still gave this four stars. But it does kind of suck that I wouldn't be able to get a replacement in time for Christmas that doesn't have the damage to the cover.

Long waited and beautiful
It's been quite the long wait for this particular tome but seeing it in ebook format it was definitely worth the wait. An absolutely amazing look in the wild and weird world of yokai.

Superb Presentation. Great Imagery, Excellent Folklore
Got my order (one paperback edition of The Fox's Wedding) earlier this week; LOVE IT! I've backed many other books via Kickstarter but this book is among the best in quality. The paper is great. The binding is strong. The presentation of the book looking like an old tome is perfect. Just picking up the book you can tell it's of a quality manufacturing. The art is superb. It's as if you had been out on a yokai stroll and these creatures paused for the artist to capture an image of them. The writing style fits perfectly with a catalogue of folklore as each is almost a journal entry. As the writer travels about he notes habitat, behavior, appearance and legends. All in a very clear, concise manner. Definitely want to get the two books I'm missing!!

Great follow up in the book series. I absolutely loved a special attention to the various kitsunes and of course, lovely illustrations.
