Shakespeare Omni Surf, Length 3.60 – 4,20 m, 3-Piece, Low Cost, Weight 120 – 180g – Action Fast Beachcaster

I have just bought 3 of these rods for a really low price. I have seen another review where the buyer complained that he could not get the top sections sections apart after use. So when mine arrived I examined the joints and found some carbon dust/grit inside the rods, this needs to be cleaned out, I used silicone grease on the spigot inserting it carefully and wiping the dust off with the grease when it was withdrawn, repeating until the grease was clear of black dust.These rods are made with a fully carbon fibre blank and I am very please with them.Some descriptions mention - Glazed tips - I have phoned around and nobody knows what this refers to, I even spoke to Pure Fishing the parent company and they did not know. The tip section is mostly white.This rods have been very well made with fine tolerances which causes a bit of a problem getting the top sections apart, I will now take rubber gloves when I go fishing. Spigots should be kept dry normally.The finish on these rods is faultless and both the Red and White is Pearlescent, I illuminated the rod with UV light and it glowed Purple the same as metal and not White as expected.The rod back is pretty poor as it only has one section so all 3 parts are together, it has a full length clear plastic half with cloth making up the back, so really made only to help sales.
