Prefer Dasung VS Onyx Boox Max
A recent cycling injury left my husband with a traumatic brain injury and extreme light and screen sensitivity. Doing his work on his laptop has left him frustrated and in a lot of pain at times. The most harmful is blue light from computers. After much searching I was SO happy to find this type of device. I hope these are on trend to be mainstream soon! Unsure which would be better, I bought the both the Dasung Paper Like Pro and the Onxy Boox Max. The main purpose of our use is for my husband to use this when he writes blog articles, etc. When writing there is so much staring at a screen and we hoped this would alleviate the strain. Although the Boox has more features (is more like a tablet) we found some of the features unnecessary for our use. The Boox can be used for web browsing easier, but because the quality of the refresh rate is so slow, we found web browsing to be laborious. It seems like the screen is slow and the ink does not clear as fast which makes the text hard to read causing further eye strain. The Dasung has less features, but there is absolutely NO Doubt it is a superior device. It is faster and keeps the ink clear so you can read the screen easily. I thought for sure we would keep the Boox over the Dasung, but the Boox was returned. For the purposes of writing and reading an ink screen the Dasung has a much higher quality! Hope this helps someone who needs eye strain relief.

Legit eInk Monitor
I own Onyx Max 3, I was skeptical on how fast dasung refresh rate is in videos. As a monitor Dasung is the clear winner here. Onyx Max 3 can be used as a monitor but the slow refresh rate is kind of drag and having to start the monitor app is one extra step. I also have paper like pro. The resolution is low and need driver for mac. This version, paperlike 3 HD. Is much better. To my surprise, I have not used my regular monitor for work for a week. This is a solid product. Besides eye protection, I feel my reading comprehension is better on eink display.

Non working monitor plus they charge 20 percent restocking fee
BUYER BEWARE this monitor is advertised as something you can use for surfing and coding it does not work properly for most IDEs I tried with multiple setting combinations. On returning the item the seller charges a restocking fee of 200 dollars. This is not forewarned anywhere easily accessible in product description. This is a SCAM

Very good for coding and reading.
I am a software developer and I was suffering from light sensitivity after long hours of coding. I am using this monitor for nearly three weeks and my eyes relieved significantly. Although shadowing effects can easily be seen after a dark object disappears on the screen and it is slightly slower when trying to move something fast (i.e. mouse cursor, window, etc.), these are not problems at all for me. I am using this monitor mostly for coding (in Vim editor) and since I can't feel any lag in typing, I am very happy with it so far. I am using this monitor as an extended display with my MacBook Pro. I decrease my MacBook's brightness to zero when I don't need color or I don't need to play a video on it. Other than changing to light theme, I also made some configurations on Accesibility settings to optimize my MacBook for Dasung monitor. Fiddling with the options under the Display section inside Accesibility settings (such as reducing motion, etc.) yields better results. The last thing I should mention is that, since Dasung monitor has no backlight, illumination of your working environment comes into prominence.

Don't waste your money and buy the "dasung paperlike HD" directly.
Don't waste your money buying other brands that don't work. Before this "dasung paperlike HD" beauty, I had bought the "waveshare e-ink" which allows me to compare. The difference in speed is impressive. The gray detail is also much better. On the Dasung the mouse pointer moves smoothly even in detailed grayscale mode. Flawless. The Dasung even allows you to view videos with gray detail (M3). In the Waveshare the videos are simply slow frames, without any detail, without any definition in the image. You just can't have a video conference, you can't even tell who you're talking to, and it's very slow. Working with the "waveshare" is annoying, even the mouse pointer is slow. Don't waste your money and buy the "dasung paperlike HD" directly.

Normal Monitors Hurt My Eyes
I'm a software engineer who has problems looking at normal monitors for too long. I get headaches and have a hard time sleeping. If I have any reading or writing to do, I'll use the Dasung e-ink monitor. The cost is high and the image is not the best. I knew all that before buying it. For what I use it for, it works great. I'm glad I bought it. I hope Dasung develops a bigger and better e-ink monitor. If they do, I'll very likely buy it. For that, I gave 5 stars.

Office tool
The screen is certainly not for watching videos or playing games. Unfortunately e-ink technology is not there yet. However, the Dasung screen is perfect if you have tired eyes or other symptoms from spending long hours in front of the computer. You can use any kind of Office tool - Excel, Word -, and even Axapta on it. As long as what you do does not require high frame rate, it works fine. Helped me at my job for sure.
