Low power display
I wired this up to an Arduino clone board. Display works well with the standard I2C library, and finding the Datasheet for issuing commands wasn’t too tough. Display brightness is ok indoors, outdoors worked ok but you might have to shade it from direct sunlight.

LCD (not OLED), and SPI (not I2C)
What a shame. This is a fine SPI LCD display, but MakerFocus just had to lie about what it is (and isn't). I gave it two stars because it's an excellent display that works well. It would have gotten 4 stars (as high as I ever go) if they hadn't lied. When MakerFocus's children are crying from hunger and bill-collectors are pounding on the outside of their refrigerator box homes, they should gaze into a mud puddle: that gaunt haunted face reflecting back at them did this. Never lie.

took a while to wire it up, but it works fine on my UNO
seems like these reviews are for mixed products so I got the 130x130 LCD (SPI).It took a while to wire it up, but it works fine on my UNO. the refresh rate is a little slow depending on what you are doing (eg filling the screen with solid colors, you can see the tearing or scanlines being drawn, its maybe like ~10fps ). the library from LCDWIKI might just be inefficient, who knows. overall it works as expected.

Great screen
Great product though documentation was very vague and code is "read only"

This is a decent little LCD display with LED backlight, but not OLED as advertised
This is not an OLED display; it is an LCD display with an LED background.OLED displays have many advantages over this product; a quick Google search will help if you don't know the difference. It's clear from some other reviews that the reviewers are clueless to this distinction, but they like the product anyway.I like this item and think this is a nice LCD display.I knocked off 3 stars because the seller's top level description misrepresents this product as one of superior performance and higher value.

good price
works well

Great for side projects
Great for side projects when you need some visual information without connecting. I am not using it for high frame rate, so I am not sure the limits yet.

Pin labels and documentation confusing
Somewhere out there is a poor soul who desparately needs this information, like I did:The Pin out for the 130x130 color TFT LCD MSP1601 with the SSD1283A controller sold by makerhawk corresponds to these Arduino pins. This is NOT an I2C protocol device.TFT UNO Pin AKA Comment======= ======= ==== ===================================================LED A3 Analog PIN for on-module LED Control (if required).SCK D13 CK,CLK Clock. NOT SCL. That the clock pin SCL (A5) for I2C protocol only.SDA D11 MOSI Data. Hardware SPI always on the UNO. "SDA" should NEVER be used as a line name in SPI. It is for I2C protocol ONLY.A0/DC D9 Documentation and source has "CD" which is INCORRECT. Board has "A0/DC" - "A0" is a total mystery.RST D8 ResetCS D10 SS Chip select. SS is strictly an SPI line name.GND GND Power supply ground (negative)VCC 5V +5V power supply inN/A D12 MISO Unused apparentlyThe source code and documentation references most pins without a digital/analog prefix. For example, they use "13" instead of "D13". Highly annoying and confusing.
