Accessible and, OH, so lovely. At a reasonable price point. I think Ellsworth would be pleased with this career monograph. I certainly am. This review is for the original cover and size edition with slipcase, not the "new & more accessible" edition, whatever that means

Large format monograph, great binding and paper quality per usual with Phaidon. Full color reproductions, some black and white (very few) great editorials. Entertainment to cost value is great.

Surely the finest single volume on Kelly to date. With intensely saturated and vibrant colors, the reproductions have the feel of the actual works. Also included are some of the lyrical plant drawings and lithographs, showing Kelly's mastery of line.

A great history of Ellsworth's history as an abstract painter. It is a good insight into his development as an artist.

Purchased as a gift: Recipient is thrilled, tells me it is now a treasured possession--an outstanding publication.

A truly amazing book - beautiful photographs and well written of an American icon.

Ellsworth Kelly really shows up how far contemporary art has strayed into the position it is now. His works are so pure you can just enjoy them for what they are , no explanation needed Pure art.

Correspond à mes attentes

Generally speaking, minimal art does not translate well to book format. You really have to see the works live to appreciate their power and uniqueness. But worth it for a Kelly fan. The book itself is gorgeous. It's just hard to appreciate the monumental greatness of his forms in this format.

Almost perfect book but lacking in information on drawings.
