Very nice!
After enlarging the 8mm holes to 10mm they fit good all but the high e had to file the edge no big deal. Great tuners

Perfect Replica / Replacement
I bought these Fender 70's F Tuners to replace the tuners on my 1982 "Dan Smith" Fender Stratocaster. The guitar was originally fitted with these tuners but I changed them for a different type some time in the mid 80's. I wanted to put the guitar back to as original condition as possible. These tuners are an exact replica of the Schaller tuners that the guitar was fitted with from the factory, the screw holes lined up exactly with the previous mounting holes. The gear ratio on these tuners is 16:1So far I haven't had any tuning problems with the guitar. I'm not sure if these tuners are still made by Schaller but they feel smooth, if not somewhat slightly stiff to turn. There is a hole down the center of the shaft just like the originals. So far I'm ver happy with the performance of these tuners, my aim was to put the guitar back to original condition and since I lost the original tuners these fit the bill perfectly. They seem to range in price from $39.99 to $59.99 so shop around, I managed to get them for $39.99.

Mods may be in order.
A lot of people on here are saying theses are better than original, and fit perfectly. Not true in my case. I had to enlarge the holes in the headstock to accommodate new ferrels. Barrel of these pegs are larger that original. Even though the mounting holes for the individual pegs are exactly the same they would not line up without modification. I didn't want to drill new holes in the head, so I ground a little off of each shoulder on the housing to make it slide further towards the rounded side, then I enlarged the slot where the stem sticks out to allow it to be slid. It didn't take much, and I'm sure there is still enough meat in the body that it will cause no problems. The whole process took about an hour, and I didn't have to drill new mounting holes, only enlarge the ones for the stems. As far as identical to new, no way. This guitar is a 1974, and I wouldn't be replacing these if one hadn't broke, but you can tell this chrome will be popping off in no time, and all in all they just have that "made in china" feel. As long as they keep me in tune till I can find an actual original to replace my broken one, I'll be ok.

good replacement tuners for squier strat
I got these after watching a youtube review about making your squier better.it did the trick with minimal drilling. I believe the size was 3/8 for the peg, [visit you tube] and most of the set screws needed no drilling at all. only one edge hung over a bit.

Nice tuning machines
I replaced cheap trapezoid tuners on an old Peavey Predator... These are die cast tuners as opposed to stamped sheet metal typical of cheap trapezoid tuners. No slop, no backlash at all. Very nice.

Perfect replacement
i ordered these because i had a couple of bent tuning machines on my 1982 Fender Bullet from when presumably someone dropped it. these were a direct replacement and the guitar feels good as new now.

Nice OEM Fender tuning machines...
I bought these to replace some old tuning machines that were loose and damaged from careless handling of the guitar. They installed quite easily with only minor enlargement of the headstock holes to accomodate the bushings and carefully drilling out the old screw holes and filling them with maple dowel stock glued in with Titebond III. All but 1 of the filled holes were covered by the new tuning machines. The filled holes were dressed down level and touched up with a few drops of lacquer and Voila! A beautiful installation! These are nice smooth tuning machines, inside and out. Die cast body with brass pinion gear, nicely chromed covers with Fender F logo. These are nicely lubricated inside and work very smoothly. I posted some photos of the inner workings for those who want to see what "makes them tick", so to speak.Very good tuning machines for a very modest amount of money. A big improvement!
