This is a great toy for building that develops understanding of geometry and spatial awareness. It is great for kids from 2 to 102 years old!! Everyone at my house loves to play with these, and my kids range from 17 to 2 years old. The pieces are too big to swallow and they are easy clean up. This is a hit with anyone that will come to visit as well! We got a "smokin' deal" on our set, but I would say it is worth every penny of the $250 suggested retail price!We are a homeschooling family, and know other homeschoolers who recommended them to us. But if you are looking to get your kids to turn off the TV, or put down their phone and do something different, here is the magic you need. :0) This set has enough pentagons to make a ball exclusively with pentagons. It also has axels that make vehicles possible. Lots of pieces and lots of variety! There are quite a few "instructions" for different projects, but your kids will be off and running, creating their own, in no time.

These are THE BEST building sets EVER! I received a small 26 piece set about 8-9 months ago and my 2.5 year old has played with them *almost* every day since we got them. They are SO MUCH FUN. The pieces themselves are really strong, sturdy, good sized, and has strong enough magnets to build easily, but to take apart pretty easily too. We have made all kinds of awesome things with these and this set REALLY delivers the fun! There are the perfect amount of pieces to build anything your little heart desires, but not so many that you are overwhelmed.I almost bought the huge 300 piece set until I saw all the teeny tiny little pieces that come with it and knew my toddler would either lose them or they just wouldn't get used because we didn't know how to use them. So this set solved that. It has the magnetic pieces in a few different shapes, and it has a set of wheels (which my son absolutely LOVES), so its still considered a basic set, but it has an abundant number of pieces to work with.I have also seen Magnatiles compared to these and MUCH prefer these! I just felt like the Magnatiles weren't as heavy duty as these, they didn't seem as big, and I didn't like that they were enclosed (these are open shapes) and we love to be able to put things inside the cube or pyramid or whatever he decides to build. Magnatiles are cute and look like stained glass windows, but we found these to be much more user friendly for my family.We absolutely LOVE these!

Im a Grandma of 10 with 12 children of my own and a preschool. Everyone who plays with the Magformers loves them! Whenever I have them out they are the center of attention. They are well made. The magnets are strong and they are easy to clean and clean-up. The creative play is amazing and the added bennifits of sorting, colors and shapes is great for the preschoolers. Note: I have learned not to use them as a transition activity while waiting for mothers to pick-up their children. The moms feel inclined to help clean-up but end up building fantastic structures... I've literally had to take a photo (because they are so pleased with themselves) and send it to their phone/ computer and hand them their jacket- they want to stay and play with the Magformers!This Christmas I got a 62 piece set and a 144 piece set to add to what we already had. Then one of my daughters gifted us another 144 piece set! I keep them all in a small suitcase. When it comes out everyone knows what's inside and it's literally hours of fun and safe for toddlers. Amazon has had the best prices. General rule I follow is to wait for a sale ( I like using Amazons "Camel" for desired price alerts) and try not to pay over a dollar a peice... It sounds pricy and is, but it's tried and true for us. It's been a great investment! A toy we will pass on for generations.

Purchased these for my 4 year old son who loves to play with blocks/legos/etc. He told us that his school has these in his classroom and that he loves to play with them. Our local toy store also had some on demo in the store and he would spend hours there if we let him.These "blocks" are amazing and the creativity that comes out of my son's head never ceases to astound me. This set comes with a ton of pieces and will give your children (or even yourself) infinite amounts of fun trying to come up with all kinds of crazy new things. The set also comes with instructions to build predesigned items, but wheres the fun in that!This item is on the expensive end of toys (which is why I took off a star), but I have a very hard time putting price tags on my child's happiness when it is also educational at the same time. Overall, I would have to say this is a great toy to give to any child that you love and want to exercise their brain.
