this was a great book for the new/advanced hobbist, i found if very helpful in describing the diasease, prevention,treatments of sum diseases, im glad i got this book for my koi library,, the picts in it detail what the koi has, how to hold the koi when examining it and what the best possiable treatments are for i t, i wuld recommed doing research for the diseases and the meds, a scraping of the infected fish will allow u to know exactly what the koi has and treat it effectively and not have sum three meds to treat yur koi that needs targeted meds,, so do research,,

If you are looking to start a Koi pond like I am, you are going to look for a couple of the best sellers. This book is identical to "Koi: A Complete Guide to their Care and Color Varieties" since the authors are co-authors to this book. The pictures are identical and likely the contribution they made to the other book. If you only want the basics, buy this book, but if you want a little more information, buy the other; the authors win either way, but don't buy both.

Everything you need to know about Koi Health is hear, whether or not you are prepared to treat some of these diseases it really helps knowing what you are dealing with in your pond or on your koi babies. It certainly is a science as well as an art to keep koi healthy in the open environment. Lots of much needed pictures to help decipher what you are dealing with as well.

I like the pictures of the different diseases. This is a great reference book to have on hand. However, when my fish got sick, I found it easier to just look for the information online. The book had good starting point information, but not extensive enough to cover the details about what you should do. Very general information on each disease.

Full of easy to understand solutions and remedies.
