After 15 months...
I purchased these in April 2020 and threw them away in July 2021.That's because I didn't know to ADD SOME WATERBED CONDITIONER when I filled them. Therefore, when I drained them for moving this time, the water contained lots of globs of black sludge. These are sturdy and well made water weights. To fill them, use a small stream of water falling directly into the fill valve. Hold the "donut" up by the fill valve, not by its body. If you hold it by the body you can't fill it.Good luck and good lifting!

Great but a bit awkward to fill (no surprise)
My wife and I are on an extended walkabout this year, and I needed some weights to bring with me. My wife has been telling me I should get a set of these for years, so I finally did. I got them back in the states and did a trial run. And I've been traveling with them for about five weeks now. They are a great solution to my particular problem. They're comfortable to hold, with all the plates on they add up to a reasonable weight for me (I'm not a power lifter). And they're quiet if you drop them. They're a bit messy to fill, so I started using a wee funnel I had lying around. That makes it easier. But they seem to also stretch a bit over time. So don't expect to get them looking like the photos. I imagine those are filled with air. It's hard to get enough pressure or whatever is needed to have them fill up real tight. But then you probably wouldn't want that, since the collar wouldn't fit without the extensions in that case. So just figure out your own best way of filling them and go to it. They seem pretty solidly made, too and are easy to screw together, etc.

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF LEAKING JUNK! Bought for hardwood floors(leaked on them)!
Loved it for a while, until 4 of the dumbbells broke & now leak. Here are 10 points on why you should not buy this junk!1. I tried to fix the leaks but was not successful.2.I thought to myself, "great to protect my parents hardwood floors while I recover from 3 strokes & 5 heart attacks in South Florida-2017-2018" (In our published book) & traveling, UNLESS THEY LEAK, which they eventually will do!!!3.All now have & been thrown away!4.I bought them for my travel to the Philippines-(airplane travel for my exercise program to continue, (I do every other day) to marry my soulmate fiancee2wife Charlie in the Philippines!5.For when we travel 2gether, to many countries in the future. When they worked, they were good.6.If no break, a good value for the money. I would love to learn how to get replacement dumbbells.7.Need customer service information.Hopefully, you have better luck with breakage.I would not buy this brand ever again.8. Hard to fill up unless you are very patient!9.After 3 years all broke & leak, even after using "flex seal" to trying to fix it. IT only made very sticky & still leaks.10.O stars or -5 stars if I could give! These are my 10 points on why not to buy this trashy product & spend your hard earned money elsewhere! Have a safe, healthy, prosperous & great day or night! Yes, si, oui, Oo (Tagalog and Philipino for Yes)

Works great! 26 lbs each.
I've been using these for a few months now while I travel, and I like them a lot. I also use resistance bands, but having dumbells and being able to "move weight" is a lot more satisfying. I'm finally staying at a place with a bathroom scale, and at maximum capacity, each dumbell is 26.4 pounds. I see another reviewer saying that he's only getting about16 pounds each and is adding additional weights to each dumbell - I don't see how that's possible, because there is barely room on the handle to screw all four together when they're fully filled. He might not be following the instructions on how to to fill them. They are just as tightly filled as in the official pictures. It takes about 30 minutes of fussing to get all 8 weights filled and assembled, so it's not a quick setup. But they work great.I also managed to clock myself behind the ear with one of these the other day - no problem at all because they're just soft bloopy water balloons, but if I'd been using metal weights I think I would have really ruined my day, so there's a nice safety aspect to these if you're a klutz like me.I've left them filled for two months, with no problems so far.

It's a good concept, but reality needs some tweeking.
I travel often and thought this was a great solution. The quality seems nice, the rubber material where the water goes seems strong. The bar is a great length and seems sturdy. There was no apparent smell outside of the new rubber smell. They are easy to use, just like a regular dumbell but up to that part is difficult. The versatility is exceptional, when they work, and overall effectiveness is dependent upon the filling. The bad part....These are a monster to make appear like in the pictures. Often they show full, but are not. They can leak if you are not careful and if you sit them on the ground, (where else would you put them?) They create cracks and crevices which makes it leak or feel unbalanced. If you buy, keep a towel underneath!

Great product
These dumbells are PERFECT for traveling. If you don't want to miss working out and you don't have a gym close, this is your way to go. Good quality, highly recommend, easy to set up and can adjust the weight.

We should have tested them out within the return time.
My husband bought these to take on a road trip. He should have tested them out in a timely manner because it is too late to return them. It is almost impossible to get enough water in them to make them stiff. They are floppy, awkward and hard to empty. You also have to be careful when closing them or they will leak. A waste of money, unfortunately.
