Everything you need in a nice well designed low cost package
This unit came with the foot petal (apparently rare) included - the controls are all useful and it works well - thin AC work is difficult as the current can not go super low in AC mode. You can also use stick with this unit and the polarity is reversible. AC frequency control can be a godsend in certain applications. Other economy TIG units have tons of knobs and switches - read the reviews, most are useless to the average hobby welder and are just set and forget anyway. Everything on this unit is useful. Many of the Chinese welders have non-linear foot controls (read the longevity reviews and you will see what I mean), and use the same crappy design which electrically can never be linear (I looked into it) - this one is truly linear.Only wish would be for more current control of AC current at the low end. Previously I purchased an Eastwood/Longevity unit - returned it to buy this unit --very happy I did. TIG torch is a run of the mill Chinese unit - regulator is better than the Eastwood/Longevity unit.

Good machine
So far so good with the machine. I'm used to welding with a transformer machine with less settings, so I'm still learning about this machine. But it has plenty of power for me. Arc is stable. Mine did not come with a foot pedal which is a negative but it is what it is for this price. I would recommend this item for a home mechanic/fabricator. Or someone who goes out on the job site and needs the 120v function.

Bang for the buck!
So far I have to give this machine credit. Good bang for the buck. So far ive welded numerous sizes of aluminum ranging from 18 gauge up to 10 gauge. Plan on doing some DOM tubing here soon. It did NOT come with a foot pedal or tungsten. I got the machine about a month ago (3/2019). It came with pretty much everything else you need. Dont forget your filler and tungsten. I also recommend getting some small fuel line clamps for the hose going from your reg to the back of the machine. At 15 cfh the original clamp blew right off! If you guys have a good pedal recommendation let me know! Only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because im a novice at under a 100 hours weld time and have not yet pushed this machine to the limit so I cant say that compared to other machines in the price range it would or would not out perform them.

Read and follow directions and you’ll have a good experience.
Easy to set up, easy to use, works flawlessly! I bought this because I had an aluminum fuel tank to make and my ESAB will only do aluminum with a spoolgun, yuck. Right from the beginning I put in a Monster 12 cup and gas lense and started mocking up the tank. I noticed I was using 140 amps of its 185 available with this .125 walled 5052 sheet so I opted to return this one and get the Powertig 210EXT. The Powertig 185DV is way easier to use than the 210EXT, as I later found out.

Had my machines over 5 years
For the price this machine has never let me down. I do many projects building turbo kits and modifying cars at a small shop that I own. I learned how to weld on this machine and it has paid for itself time and time again.I’ve had this machine so long that my tig torch started leaking so I’m currently looking for a replacement. That’s where I’m kind of disappointed. They don’t have a tig torch that fits my power tig185 dual voltage machine here on Amazon. They do offer it on their website but they don’t offer express shipping as I’m in need of getting my machine back up and running ASAP. I called the number and to overnight a torch to my shop was almost $100 in shipping which I feel is excessive (i was expecting maybe $75 tops). There’s really no quick way to get your hands on a spare torch. I figured accessories for these machines would be all over Amazon but I’m not having any luck. Very inconvenient considering I bought my machine off of Amazon I figured I could get some expedited shipping on a new torch and get it next day with prime . Their website (which functions poorly) seems to be the only place to get one and they are almost 200$. Plus shipping for a fancy one.Anyway, I went ahead and bought two torches so I don’t get stuck in this mess again. But it is a bit frustrating considering my projects are at a standstill.Everlast makes great machines but they kind of corner you with the accessories. Knowing all this I WOULD buy another machine from them.

Great Welder for the Price
For its given price point, you cannot beat the features. I started welding about a year ago starting with the Harbor Freight Titanium 125 then 175 then 200 multipurpose. The Titanium 200 multipurpose has a basic TIG setup which is what lead me the the Everlast 185. Just love this little machine. Maybe when I get better in a few years, I will upgrade to the Everlast 255. If you do buy the Everlast 185, the foot pedal is an option and I ended up buying the foot pedal which makes life easier

Warranty is worthless. And you'll have to have something repaired, I'm sure
Machine is great, weld is very smooth, controls easy to use, very convenient size, more than ample power. That's where the good ends. No footpedal included, which is a must with a TIG. The warranty is basically worthless. The regulator was dead on arrival, they fixed that right away. My cooling fan quit working after a few uses, that they haven't done a thing about, apparently it's all on me to do the leg work now. Shipping is on you both ways $100+ in freight. The turnaround time is maybe eventually, if they decide they should at all. Customer service is basically non-existent. I would not buy again. Not anything from this manufacturer
