Does this one hold hammocks too

It is set up to hold the hammock chairs. Never actually looked to see if it would hold a full size hammock.

How far away are the chairs from the tailgate ?

The Chairs are roughly a 24' away given the arch of the harness. You can still swing back and make contact with the tailgate and likewise scuff it with the chairs wooden slats.
