I purchased these socks for my husband, and he loves them! They are his go-to for hiking and walking, and he also wears them as work socks. He’s on his feet a lot, and the cushioning and support these socks provide make a noticeable difference in his comfort throughout the day. Yes, they are pricier, but they’re worth it. The quality is outstanding, and they hold up well after multiple washes without losing their shape or cushioning. These are an excellent investment if you’re looking for durable, comfortable, and versatile socks! Highly recommend.

I'm a long time fan of Thorlon socks. But these seem a bit bulky, not as form-fitting as other Thorlon socks, and they seem to shed (wear) rather quickly. Time will tell on the wear issue. But I like the dark color, especially when wearing navy blue chinos to work (college teacher) with my Nike Shox (great shoes when standing for several hours and the students think the shoes are cool). (01/19/2009) It's been at least 18 months since I bought my first pair and they have held up very well to frequent use. They seem to be more durable than other socks from the same company. The black color has faded a bit, but that does not matter since I use them for casual wear. I'd give them five stars if I could figure out how to change that part of my older rating. (06/19/2010) I am still wearing the first pair, and others bought since then, on an almost daily basis. They just keep on being good, comfortable, and durable socks. No holes, no thin spots, and they still fit tightly and stay up all day. The fading slowed and stopped and I've come to like the slightly faded look now. I'm about to order more, not because any wore out but because my sons have "borrowed" several pair.

If you're on your feet all day in heavy work boots, these are the socks you want (works for me).

These are the only socks I now purchase. I have a drawer-full of light gray and these brown ones. There is extra padding at the heels and toes, which helps with comfort and durability; they also absorb perspiration well. They may be more appropriate for cooler weather, because they do tend to keep your feet warm, but I wear them every day regardless. It's nice they are available in XXL; in the morning, when the "T. rex syndrome" really manifests itself, having socks that slip on easily is much appreciated by this 81-year-old.

These socks have lots of cushioning in the soles - ideal for hiking. But the "pewter" color shown on the Amazon site is wrong. The pewter socks almost look khaki online but the actual color is a dark gray.

These are well made hiking socks made in USA. Durable, comfortable. We have made many purchases of thorlo socks and are always pleased.

These socks are perfect! I used to read water meters and the city provided 10 pairs of these for free every year, and we needed them. We’d walk 10-15 miles daily, so the wear on our socks was high. Coupled with nice Asolo hiking boots, these made my work a breeze. They’re great in ALL elements. I walked in heat, cold, rain, show, and ice. I’d double up on them in winter to keep my feet warm. Even when they get wet, they still seem to protect your feet. I always kept a clean pair in my work vehicle to change into if needed. After I was promoted, I no longer get these socks from work and I had to find them. These arrived on time and are so comfortable! I will be a customer for life.
