WD 2TB My Passport Portable Gaming Storage for PlayStation 4 New, Black

My firat external hardrive, the 2TB option i purchased. I have had it a day i must say for the PS4 it took a minute to set up and works well with the ps4 and is very straight forward to use. If youre querying getting one i recommend this massively it is tiny, easy to use and now i hav 2 TB of memory instead of 400gb my ps4 has. Although just so you aware before using it leave abit of space on your ps4 harddrive as saved game data and some updates will save there.

After trying 3 Seagate drives that all turned out to fail either very soon or never worked I tried this WD drive. Hasn't missed a beat ! Works perfectly. How to get it working as will not work out of the box. It's easy. 1. Backup your games first to a usb flash drive. 2. Power off PS4. (Never plug in or unplug a usb port on a PS4 like you would a PC !!) 3. Plug in hard drive to any usb port and power on. 4. Go to settings, Devices, USB storage devices, Format drive as extended storage. 5. You can try copying over your games but for advanced games like Call of Duty WW2 they can become corrupt and unplayable so I recommend restoring from the backup you did in step 1. Every game works great now. Its a PS4 fault and not the hard drive. That's it.

Great drive works for ps4 straight out the box no formatting needed if you want to use as a external drive for extra hdd for your ps4 just plug into your ps4 and select format as extended storage but you can’t use it as a media drive after that it’s stuck as a ps4 drive no worries if that’s what you wanted but I wanted a media drive guaranteed to be read by the ps4 had a lot of bad experiences with cheap Chinese drives that wouldn’t even format to ex fat so much waste of money not this drive though if you wanted this as media drive for videos music etc. your computer won’t read the hdd straight away you need to rename the drive and give it a letter then the computer will recognise this as a hdd then you can drag and drop till your hearts content so glad this works just gotta know which videos types the ps4 can play and it’s happy days watching red dwarf in HD on my 62” LG tv through my ps4 could just connect it to my tv both work without a glitch will buy another next month and set it up as a external drive for my ps4 could 5 star this enough past experiences tainting my opinion slightly but very good drive fast transfer rates and does what it says on the tin nice

Does what you'd expect it to. After having a bad experience with Samsung and Seagate hard drives in the past WD has never let me down and I chose to go for this one. Initially I did have some issues. Plugged it into the PS4 only to be told not compatible and must be USB 3.0 only which had me feeling I was ripped off! Turns out the PS4 has two different types of USB ports. Plugged it into the correct slot and once formatted (in about 30secs) was ready to use. Easy to set up. 2Tb more than enough and at that price it's cheaper than others. Only reason I have given it 4 stars is because the Transfer rate is a bit slow and a very bright LED light is a bit unpleasant at night.

Bought this for my PS4 and after the required PS4 formatting, works like a dream. Completely silent and compact. It saves automatically now and you probably never have to unplug it once plugged in. Really happy with the purchase

I know it is marketed for PS4 but it does work for TVs as well. In order to do this you have to format it as NTFS, plug it in and it gets recognized. Works very well. My first one of this was for my PS4 which works fine and is very quiet.

Bought for ps4, now transferred over to ps5 with no issues. Just hook it up and move your games over. Easy to do

I brought this for extra storage for my son's PS4. It was very easy to set up (so my hubby tells me) . Would definitely recommend.
