From the first riveted blue jeans made for explorers of the American West, Levi's continues to adapt to the needs of its adventure-seeking customers. This ethos is ever-present in its latest Commuter collection, with apparel designed specifically for those who move about atop their pedal-powered vehicles. The Commuter Hybrid Trucker Jacket is situated at the top of the new lineup, as its design blends that unmistakable Levi's look with a functional construction that works both on and off the bike. Knowing that cycling demands a variety of body positions, Levi's chose to construct the Hybrid using a four-way stretch softshell material. This flexible fabric was selected due to its ability to shield the upper body from the elements and, just as importantly, move with you as you ride. Like other technical softshells, the Commuter Hybrid also works to effectively move moisture to the fabric's outer surface, where it quickly dries. The streamlined cut of the Hybrid follows the contours of the body, but is not nearly as close-fitting as standard cycling apparel. Knowing that it'd be worn both on and off the bike, Levi's gave the Hybrid a fitted silhouette that covers the body while in the cycling position but doesn't look out of place as a standalone casual piece. This was accomplished by blending a subtle drop-tail rear hem and long sleeves, along with the flap chest snap pockets, traditional collar, and zippered hand pockets signature to the original Levi's Trucker. A full-length front zipper--with contrasting copper pull--lines the front of the Hybrid, and light elastic treatments at the cuffs finish off the jacket. Levi's designed the Hybrid to work on its own in addition supplementing the Commuter Parka as a zip-in liner.
