How do you put in the batteries?

No it does not come with a case. The box if open carefully can serve as a case. I suggest using Ziploc bags or small boxes for the small pieces. I find the Gerber baby food containers perfectly for this

is the motor in this set interchangeable with the motor in other Meccano sets?

It is a newer style motor and not a Direct replacement for older style motors but will work with older sets

What's the diffirenc between two styles?
