Great Product, Unique Size
I had searched all over for a high quality 5" rubber pipe couplings and was able to find these at Amazon through Pro Plumbing Supply. They were shipped immediately and were actually more robust than described. Very happy with this product.

Works Great with Dust Collection Fittings with a Minor Modification
I bought this to connect a 5” to 4” reducer to my XL Dust Deputy so I could use my 4” hose to connect to our stationary tools. As others have noted, this rubber coupling is for schedule 40 PVC and dust collection fittings are schedule 20. The difference is the wall thickness. Schedule 40 has thicker walls, so it’s way big for dust collection. But, big is an easy problem to handle. I cut some carpet matting and taped it around my 5” to 4” reducer as shown above. I put pieces of Gorilla tape (duct tape would work equally well) over the matting and the fitting to compress the matting at the point where the fitting would insert into the rubber coupling. In all, I recommend doing this in at least 8 places, equally spaced, beginning with the seam in the matting. For the connection to the dust deputy, I used 12 pieces of tape to ensure the Dust Deputy arm would slide easily into the rubber coupling. Once the tape is on, I eased the fitting into the coupling using my thumbs on either side to gently push the two together. Worked great. See the second picture above of the finished joint. Then I use a nut driver to tighten the screws on the coupling. Perfect. Don’t have excess carpet padding? No problem, use the cheap anti-fatigue matting from Harbor Freight or anything else that is compressible and of similar thickness.

Not 5" like advertised
This is sold as 5", but it is not. It is 6". I could have gone to home depot or my local plumbing supply house and picked up a 6" fernco coupler for less. I needed a 5" coupler for my dust collection connection on my 20" planner. I ordered this, due to them listing it as 5". One of the hose clamps broke trying to get it tight enough to seal on the 5" planner outlet. You really have to crank them down to get it shrunk down enough. This will be going in the garbage as soon as I can find a 5" rubber coupler. Overall, if I ordered this to use on a 6" pipe, it would work. It feels like a standard rubber coupler. The hose bands are on the cheap side. If given a choice, I would probably just order a rubber coupler from a plumbing supply house.

fits perfectly over 125mm outlet for Carbatec DC-1200P dust collector and over 100mm PVC pipe for a 102mm main line ...
