Great fun!
These decks are really solid for what they are. My son and I played the heck out of these while out of the country on vacation. Sadly, we left them behind on accident. So if your ever somewhere, where your looking out on the balcony and Corfu is not to far in the distance, check the third drawer in the main bedroom. LOL.

Excellent Learning Tool
This is my go-to product for teaching my friends how to play Magic. The art is wonderful, and each deck has a clearly defined playstyle with a fair chance of winning. While I cannot speak to the price of the actual cards in the box, there is fantastic value in the gameplay here. As an experienced player, I am happy to pick up either deck and enjoy a quick game.I've noticed in other reviews some people complain that the red/green deck is too powerful while others criticize the blue/white deck for winning the majority of the time. I think this speaks to the importance of strategy and adapting your game plan to your opponent. Either deck can feel more powerful based on the player piloting the deck. While I would not gift this to an experienced Magic player, if you're looking for an excellent introduction to the game or a wonderful teaching tool, you won't be disappointed.

Great pair of decks for the money.
As I write this you can buy the 2 deck pack for around 15 bucks. That is a solid deal in general and each deck has enough cards of value to make that a worthwhile pick up even for the more discerning MTG buyer. But especially if your looking for a bargain entry option into MTG this is a very good deal as you not only can just pick up and play with a friend, but once that is done have the materials to explore creating your own blue/green hybrid deck, or find other mono decks you can easily tear apart and mix together.I ended up taking some of the blue ones for a blue commander deck Ive been messing around with, and have a few different green or part green decks that the green deck ended up being parted out for. Which is the fun of MTG imo.Frankly if only for the very unique and lovely artwork and creature themes these decks are a real must at the current price point.

We need more!
So a little backstory on the set. Wizards of the coast went to China and asked Chinese players to incorporate local folklore into mtg lore. What they got were beautifully illustrated cards with crazy effects that play into those legends. It's a great idea but sadly, short lived. I wanna see more of this. What about Amazonian folklore? Or Ugandan folklore? Or Mongolian folklore? The world is rife with legends and I think wizards of the coast would benefit from exploring that more. Great idea, solid cards and Planeswalkers. I wanna see more.

Perfect Learning Decks
I'm new to Magic and my friend who is teaching me said these decks were so well balanced and have such simple mechanics that made them perfect for beginners. He was very right and this they made learning fun. There is no official 'learning decks' but if there were these would be it. The art is gorgeous too!

Decent Starters
Decent price for decent starter decks. Adding to the collection of options for MTG nights.

Wonderful for Beginners
I recently wanted to expand into more TCGs than just Yu-Gi-Oh! and Weiss Schwarz, so I decided that this set was the most affordable way to get started. I chose it for its beautiful art and Chinese folklore theme, but my friends who are teaching me to play all have assured me that these both are excellent starter decks and have helped me build green and blue decks that are understandable at my level of standard playing, yet hold their own in matches. I highly recommend this set to other beginners, experienced MTG players might find it underwhelming.

Beautiful artwork but weak deck (especially Mu Yanling)
This deck shines for the artwork. Everything is beautiful, colorful and vivid. My son usually plays Jiang Yanggu and I play Mu Yanling. And while the Mu Yanling is the most beautiful deck I've ever seen, it's also the weakest deck! There is ONE creature with an attack of 5! All the other ones are very weak, a bunch of 1s and 2s, it takes forever to inflict any kind of damage. There are some great instants and overall, the deck is a great defensive deck. But in the end, it consistently loses and I just don't think the decks are balanced. This deck consistently loses to other pre-constructed decks and even some intro decks too. It's pretty, but unless you like to lose, it's just for show.
