THIS BOOK IS A GREAT HISTORY OF THE LOTUS 72. THE PHOTOS ARE WONDERFUL AND PETE LYONS' TEXT IS TERRIFIC AS ALWAYS. I RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN 1970'S FORMULA ONE.

The best Lotus race car ever.
Pretty much a race by race history of the various Lotus 72 chassis and how they placed. Good variety of photos to use as a reference book.

Slightly damaged in shipping
Beautiful book, lavishly illustrated, interesting text. Binding on spine was compressed in transit. Hate to see this on any book, especially a $45 book. I would have gladly paid $5 to ship the book better protected/padded.

A good book lacking depth
Pete Lyons Lotus 72 book is a good picture book that compliments the Lotus 72 books by Michael Oliver and Haynes. It provides different views and pictures from that period.However, I expected more from Pete Lyons. He is as I remembered an excellent journalist. More coverage of the details of the Lotus 72, Colin Chapman, and the drivers would have added to the story. Perhaps, he felt it was covered in the other books.My suggestion for future books is to share facts that are not otherwise known to the readers. Catch their interest.I am sure future releases will improve in time.
