Good fit, needs a small design changes
Overall the cover works well with my Kindle 5th gen reader. The cover is not too bulky and is easy to open and close. For the price, I got what I needed. It is missing a few details that I think are valuable that I would pay more for. First up is the quality. The linen isn’t that nice and does fray a bit more than I would like. The alignment of the materials leaves a little to be desired. On my case I case see the linen grain is angled instead of straight. The main issue I have is the closing elastic strap. They put it on the wrong side, the front of the cover, it should be attached on the back cover. It is more natural to pull the elastic from the back to the front when securing it, not the opposite. If they fixed this one issue, I would give it four stars overall.

Poor choice
My fault actually.NO auto sleep/wake and I didn't really give enough attention to this lacking feature in the description as I thought I'll have it anyway, how not?I didn't realize then how much a problem that would be, and it appeared to be actually totally annoying. Not putting it in sleep mode when closing it drains the battery, especially painful as these kindles are old (2012/2013...) and therefore the batteries are close to end of life.So I am now obliged to find the teeny tiny button at the bottom of the kindle to turn it off/on manually and believe me, it is not that easy: difficult to see, difficult to find and difficult to press. This alone is a show stopper.Besides that, the kindle itself is attached by elastic straps and I don't put a lot of stock on the reliability and longevity of these. I'll give them 1 or 2 years only, but then I believe that my 2013 kindle will die before. Finally the general feeling is not sturdy at all and you must be careful closing it with its strap as if it falls it'll get opened and then no protection at all.As I wrote in my title, a poor choice of mine and for a price which is not cheap.
