Khawaja does it again!
This is a great book on celebrating Eid, from eating well to helping others, and I love that Duck starts out trying to celebrate with a christmas tree ("No, that's what our Christian friends do") and then a menorah (ditto, for our Jewish friends). Raising young kids in the US, it was really nice to have that nod to other traditions that my kids are well aware of, and then delve into what we do. I do think some of the words / concepts were a little advanced for my 5 year old (e.g. compassionate, waxing crescent moon), but the book therefore also presents an opportunity for discussion. And there is a page at the end that explains crescent moons, lunar months, and so forth. Overall, love it!

Fun book- great for kids of all faiths
Great book for kids of all faiths. For Muslim kids it helps them realize how Eid is special while relating to them about all the other holiday traditions they see in school, at stores etc. We also read this book to two of our kid's classes (public school) by teachers request (preschool and kindergarten) and the kids and teachers loved it. (both teachers asked for a copy of the book for the classroom library).Book is very well written and reminds us a bit of Mo Willems style... its very fun to read and kids love it.

Entertaining and relatable book for kids!
I ordered a set of books for my 4 year old on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr. I was looking through this book before I packed it for him, and absolutely loved it! It addresses the questions kids may have surrounding the holidays. Ilyas is the little boy the readers can relate to, and Duck provides some comic relief. Such a wonderful present - I'm so excited for him to read this and share it with his 13 month old sister!

Ilyas & Duck are definitely good to have because they are cute and animated religious ...
As Muslims living in a country where different religions are practiced sometimes, Islam fades into the background and we forget to teach our children the importance of remembering where they came from and important things about their religion, even though these are children's books, Ilyas & Duck are definitely good to have because they are cute and animated religious knowledge, one way to leave a mark in the hearts of our kids so they don't grow up lost in such a big world.

My kids LOVE these books!!
These are probably the highest quality Islamic Kids books that I've found in English. We have all four in the series and I'm hoping there are more in publication!

Awesome (But Pricey) Book on Eid-ul-Fitr!
Awesome book on Eid-ul-Fitr!Pro: Colorful, great message, and wonderful way to discuss the holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr with childrenCons:-Wish it came as a board book so my child could leaf through the page on her own, without fear of tearing one of the pages!-Very expensive for a children's book!-"Ilyas & Duck Search for Allah" is little more exciting for children.
