This is a great addition to parties and casual get-togethers where you are looking for a fun straightforward game
We play lots of board games are our place. It's our favorite activity for family get-togethers and having friends over. A while back we played Wits and Wagers Party Edition at a family gathering. It was fantastic! That is actually what we thought we were ordering when we added this to our cart and checked out. But it was not...this is a different version of the same game.In the Party Edition players can earn chips as they get answers right, then at the end of the game they can use some, all, or none of them in an effort to win it all. In this edition, however, instead of chips, players have two wooden markers that look like little people, well, sort of. Anyway, the game plays pretty much like other versions of Wits and Wagers, except that in this case after everyone writes their answers and reveals them then then place their markers on answers as they best see fit. If they wrote the winning answer they get a point, if they placed their larger marker on the correct answer they get two points, and if they placed their smaller marker on the correct answer they get one point. This game is easy to play and easy to explain to newcomers. OK, for example, we had a couple of people over recently as part of a family gathering and they are in their 80s. We wanted to play a game so we pulled this game out. One of them is somewhat notorious for not doing especially well when learning new games, especially games with longer sets of rules (e.g., Settlers of Catan), but he picked right up on this game. We played several rounds, and everyone all enjoyed the experience. We have also played this game with players as young as our little niece who is 8 or 9 and she did just fine.I have to agree with my wife that while the game is fantastic, it really is designed for players who need a slightly simpler version of this game, such as younger children. And that we miss the chance to bet it all at the end of the game as in the Party Edition. Still, we haven't gotten a copy of the Party Edition yet so we are obviously happy enough with this version. This is a great addition to any gamers collection for parties and casual get-togethers where you are looking for something fun and straightforward to play.5 stars

Best game ever!
When we ask my kids what game we should play my ten year old always wants to play Wits and Wagers. We have played games with grandparents down to kids. It is always a blast and everyone enjoys playing. Whole family (teenagers included) enjoyed this game when we received it over the winter holiday as a gift -- the "questions"/cards involve guessing about any variety of entertaining stats, They really give one pause and require some thought. It's fun to watch people sit and work it out in their heads prior to "betting" on who's the best guesser.Product Description:Wits & Wagers Family is the family version of the most award winning party game in history. This edition is more simple, has less down time, and is more portable than the original Wits & Wagers. It also removes the "gambling" element and has questions that are appropriate for kids and the whole family. Most importantly, Wits & Wagers Family makes use of the beloved Meeple playing piece! How to Play1) A question is asked.2) Everyone writes down a guess.3) The guesses are placed face-up on the table and ordered smallest to largest.4) Place your Meeples on the guess that you think is closest to the right answer.Feeling confident? Fun game might
Well, I thought I got the adult version but saw it was the kids edition. Still the questions are fun, difficult and emit an OHMYGOODNESS from a few of the players when the answer is revealed

Fun way to pass a short amount of time...
Thankfully, the directions for this game are straightforward and uncomplicated! We were able to play the game right out of the box - by the time the family finished unwrapping the cards and passing out the materials, I was done reading the directions and gave them all the quick version and we were ready to go! Basically, everyone answers random numerically driven trivia questions by writing down their guess on their dry-eraser card, and then everyone presents their answers for each person to vote on as the most likely to be correct (closest without going over). There are plenty of cards (each has two sets of questions - use top questions till the end of the deck, then use the second set - though the temptation to look at the question and answer of the second question is too much to resist a lot of the time, potentially ruining future game fun). I played with my children (13 boy, 11 boy, 9 girl) and they enjoyed it, but I kept it to only two full rounds because I could tell that the format would get old quickly. There is no challenging aspect to the game that would keep you engaged for more than a couple of rounds. The other negative aspect to the game that the kids pointed out almost immediately is that the questions become quickly outdated and some of the world records have already been surpassed in some areas. Overall, this is a fun game that we will grab off the game shelf from time to time. Oh, I almost forgot to add one thing! A very positive note for this family of 5 - an actual game that accommodates five players instead of the typical four! Hooray!!

A great family game!
My 4 and 6 year olds LOVE playing this game and so do the adults! The questions are anyone's guess, and the meeples offer a nice hands-on aspect. It helps kids use reason and logic in a fun way so you can't go wrong with that!

Loads of fun! Easy to learn!
I got this as a gift for my sister for Christmas and we had a great time playing it with our family. Not a hard game to learn and you don't need impeccable knowledge to do well at the game. Would highly recommend for a good game night with friends or family.

Fun game, find ways to add your own twist to it
My family is big into boardgames. I played this one with friends at Snakes and Lattes and knew it'd be a hit at home. We had a great time better money instead of chips trying to gauge who actually knew the answer and who was flat out guessing. And we were all surprised the odd time when we ourselves guessed right out of left field! It had laughs, a challenge, and we all learned some things thought the game. Was a hit! :)

Family fun
Great game for the entire family regardless of age. You don't need to know any of the answers so it's "fair" for the kids vs adults. Quick play as well, our rounds usually last 15 minutes.
