These are excellent silicone placemats: reasonably thick, and nice and sturdy, and they look good. This is a very important feature for people like us who often eat in front of the TV instead of at a table (often eating in bed or on a sofa or chair), and for people who have to carry food trays across a distance in their home to serve meals to others. I believe that they would also be great to use with children, preventing lots of drops and spills by the kids. Sometimes, we also use these placemats as large trivets to place hot baking pans and baking sheets on that have just been removed from the oven. The heat-resistant silicone that these placemats are made of does an excellent job of protecting the kitchen countertop beneath them from heat damage. According to Wikipedia, silicone has low thermal conductivity, and it also has thermal stability (meaning that it doesn't freeze or melt easily), and is able to withstand a wide temperature range of -148°F to 482°F (−100°C to 250°C.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicone Also, these placemats are very easy to clean (Don't listen to the other reviewers who have said that they are difficult to clean, because they simply haven't figured out the right way to clean them yet!) I have a cleaning brush with a row of bristles that spans about 8" that I bought at a dollar store, and a couple of quick passes over these placemats with this brush easily removes all of the crumbs and other sticky food bits that have fallen on the placemats (I leave the placemats on the plastic cafeteria trays while I quickly brush them off after each of our meals.) If you accidentally drop any wet food on the placemats while eating, you can easily clean off that area of the placemat using a sponge or a paper towel. In the event of a big, wet spill, such as accidentally knocking over a drinking glass on the placemat, you can easily wash off the placemat using water from the kitchen sink (and soap or detergent, if necessary.) We love these silicone placements so much that we also bought some smaller-sized ones to use on the smaller-sized plastic cafeteria trays that we sometimes use instead of our bigger ones. I highly recommend them.

I rotate them (pkg of 4) at my kitchen coffee station on granite countertop. Often have one next to the stove while cooking for spatulas, spoons, ladles etc. Light and plyable, stays in place. Protects counter, yet inconspicuous. Easily wipes clean during use, and great in the dishwasher! Exactly what I needed.

I ordered several of these. They are low profile and work well on my dining table without screaming at guests. I also use them on my kitchen counters when I pull things from the oven. I keep them in my dish towel drawer, folded in half. At first I tried washing them under a faucet after use. Now I just wipe them down on both sides with a wet dishcloth. Easy to clean. Low profile, and they don't take up much space in a drawer for storage. I'm really in love with them and use them more and more as I go along. Awesome product!

This product seems to work as expected. It's not really easy to clean because it's so floppy.

These are much smaller than I expected. It’s also really really thin. They are technically easy to clean but it’s hard to keep them flat and stable when cleaning because it’s so flimsy.

Purchased to go on makeup vanity for teen. We just painted the vanity and didn't want it to get all nasty with makeup again. Also put one on her nightstand so she wouldn't ruin the new paint with cups and food. These are perfect for furniture protectors and makeup pads.

Small enough to grab one out to put under a bowl when mixing batter etc. Protects scratches on my new laminate countertops. I keep one always next to the sink where I pile the dishes to be washed & scrubbed before hand. Easy to wipe clean I even cut small things gs on them like a banana. Cheep enough to replace when they wear out.
