Nice music visualization toy
This is a little smaller than I expected (my fault, the information is in the listing), but in a way that's a good thing. This doesn't distract too much from the music, but is a nice background feature. I leave mine on the speaker, and it works nicely there. Pretty easy to set up and control

Cool science project - not a real show piece.
It works well and is a very cool looking tower “display” but it lacks a truly finished appearance, more like a science project. It’s fine for a computer or gaming desk but not really something for the living or family room when guests would see it. A case, especially an option for a wooden case, with openings for the translucent “bars” would help make it a solid product. It reacts to the music but not using tonal accuracy. There is no difference between a bass note and a loud guitar solo visually. $50 is simply too much for this product.

Let there be Lights!
this little thing is pretty darn cool. it's about 8" tall and 2" wide, so it won't take up a lot of room on a desktop. It works as described -- real-time audio spectrum analyzer converts sound to light. It comes assembled; all you have to do is connect the usb cable into the tower and the other end of the usb into a computer, and connect the 3.5mm splitter cable to your speaker output line.4 stars because1) the supplied instructions are in Chinese and aren't very helpful. Luckily, these same instructions are also on the product description page. So you can copy, cut, paste, and print them and you're good --I also saved a copy to the cloud in case i ever lose the printed copy.2) The USB cable is super-short, and the 3.5mm jack end--which plugs into your computer and forks from the USB connector-- is only about 2 inches. This limits connectivity. I have a headphone amp/DAC as an external sound card which outputs to my powered speakers. I was able to plug the splitter into the output jack and plug in the unit's cable and the speaker cable into my DAC/amp. But the length of the cord prevented me from trying other configurations. it's not long enough to plug into the USB on the back of the computer and the front headphone input at the same time. The cord also wasn't long enough to place it on the right side of my computer, or to plug in into the front panel USB and the headphone inuput while also placing the unit on my desk where i can see it. I had to plug in the USB to an external USB/card reader which sits on the top of my computer, which robs me of one of my USB 3.0 ports. So, depending on your desktop set-up, this could be problematic. It may be possible to buy a longer aftermarket cord--you would need micro-USB to USB male + 3.5mm--but it would have been nice to have a longer cable, like a 6ft cable, supplied.3.) it would be a chore to connect two units together. You would need 2 free USB ports and 2 free headphone ports, although i suppose if you use a headphone amp, you can use the splitter to run sound through both units on one port. But then you would need a longer cable for the second unit. That said, for what it is and at this price, it's a pretty fun gadget which brightens up listening to music on dreary days immensely. Can't wait to use it at night.I didn't try out all the functions, just tested it at the default setting, so i may edit this review after doing so.EDIT: apparently it is possible to separate the audio channels into R/L stereo, which you may want to do if you get two units. You'd still need to figure out the input situation and get a micro-usb splitter and a longer cable. I may do this eventually. This unit also appears to be exactly the same as one by another seller which is more expensive.

This is my new favorite LED display!
Simple, easy to use and paired w/a 2nd easily. Also loved the different modes it has.You have to rate this for the price and ease of use. You plug it into USB power and then you then split the signal w/a headphone jack. There aren't much for options for audio, but you can make it work w/splitters, or if you have a real audio device w/multiple outputs you can just plug it into a secondary output.Only negative I would say would be the color choices for the top end, it should go up to red/orange on top vs the green/blues it does. That would be my only complaint, other than that it is some inexpensive, very well crafted eye candy for my computer setup.

Great for the audio lover or gadget guy.
Update - One of the two units ordered died for no reason as of 8/28/2020. For the price of these, I expected it to last longer. Disappointed. Dropping from a 4-star rating to 2. A product of this type should not break in less than a year.I am a true gadget and electronic / computer geek and HAD to have these when I saw them.Pros-The response is spot on and they provide a nice visual experience to when you listen to music or audio.-Has 8 different modes or styles you can select from by pushing the white mode button on the back of the unit. (See description for the outline of each and for an explanation of changes you can make to gain.)-In case your volume output level does not give you the amount of reaction in lights you desire in comparison to the volume of your speakers, you can use the mode button by long pressing to adjust the gain.-The height was perfect for me. It has 16 "levels". This made it perfect to fit on my desktop without being overkill.-Unlike many being sold online, these came well packaged and fully assembled. Just plug them in and you are ready to roll.Cons-For the price, I wish the quality of the cords was better as well as wish the dc input - switches on the back of them were encased or even sealed with epoxy. The included cords are cheap and the audio endings are not even gold plated which is almost a standard now. The dc connection ports stick out of the back and look as though you could break or bend them if not careful. If they are set up and not bumped around or moved a lot, this should not be an issue.-Thought using the USB plugged into a powered USB hub I have or having them plugged into my higher end ASUS ROG motherboard would have been perfect but that was not the case to power these. While they worked using both, if there was no audio on, the lights would flicker slightly which drove me nuts. What worked for me to get a perfect condition was using a USB Y adapter and powering them using my Samsung OEM Phone Charger. (Gain adjustments were tried but did not fix my issue.)Three stars as the quality should have been better for the pricing. Epoxy to seal around the connectors for better stability, nicer cables, and an EOM charger would have made this a 5-star product and would have made me content with the pricing. As with all my reviews, I will update this review should they fail over time.
