Mira 88 Spares Service Pack (936.12)

Easy to use. My Mira 88 was installed way before I moved in. It had been leaking for a while so I checked the internet and decided to repair as it was easier and less costly than getting a plumber out. It’s a recessed mixer unit over 15 years old in a hard water area. Put together fine no drips.Words of wisdom to all, if your shower needs sprucing up due to lime scale build up then your gate valves are going to need it too!I had to replace the hot and cold supply valves, and the stopcock as well!Make sure you have a monkey wrench or large gauge pump pliers and good locking pliers.

Did the job perfectly

It’s a faultless set of rubber seals and hardware which transforms the shower when it becomes difficult to turn off and on. The last time I used a kit I used the lubricant that come with the kit. 8 years later I found that online experts warn never to use this stuff when I needed to repeat the service, as the cover plate was welded tight. It needed at scary combination of a heat gun, plumbers wrench and a hammer to get it loose. After that it was straightforward to put it back together, and now the action is as smooth as silk. I chucked the Mira grease in the bin and bought a good quality silicone grease.

Fixed an annoying dripping Mira 88 shower. Would have given 5 stars, but took 11 days to arrive and when it arrived, one of the clips that holds the piston/s in place was missing (fortunately, this is only a minor part so was able to utilise existing clip. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase and would buy again from same supplier. many thanks.

Repaired a leaking shower controller, items fitted perfectly, well pleased. would recommend watching a utube video before starting.

Excellent kit, includes everything you need to repair your shower valve, the simple drawing/instructions provided are all thats required to change everything. You may wish to consider purchasing a new control Knob set as the main control knob in my case was extremely tight on the shaft, and was difficult to remove. I ended up applying some heat from a hot air gun to soften the plastic a little. The removal of the control knob is something that you need to do to get to the internals.

Have used this spares kit before, easy to use , works very well, extends the life of shower. If your Mira 88 shower is leaking, try this kit before investing in a new shower.
