Worth every penny
If you’re on the fence and made it this far, buy it. Assembled in under 10 minutes, no adjustments needed. Makes smooth, ready to weld cuts (if you have clean metal) very efficiently. The chips make clean up much easier than dust from an abrasive. Really good value for the $ as a hobbyist

Quick Mitering capabilities
Pros: Great price point and definitely worth the money. The quick adjustment capability for mitering is awesome. Abrasive saws tend to make mitering difficult and time-consuming, because you need a wrench to change the angle. But with this saw, you can quickly adjust the angle, and this is a major reason I bought the saw. The blade is good for metal and wood and PVC. Read the advice on how to cut steel, and what orientation to secure the material.Cons: the first saw that was sent to me had an issue with cutting a straight vertical line. I noticed that the teeth would cut randomly to the left or right of the cut line, even with the material clamped. It took me a while, but I noticed that the arbor moved in and out of the motor about 0.014". Though that seems minimal, I don't doubt that the blade bends a little as well, and the motor housing can move left and right a little (as it does on most sliding saws). Add these up, and the cut can travel left and right significantly. The company sent me a brand new saw, after I returned my original. The new saw has about 0.0015" amount of arbor movement(10% of the original). This is much improved, and I will watch if that changes. Besides the arbor travel issue, the clamp could be a bit beefier, and the cord holder is plastic, and I stripped the securing screw. I had to replace the screw with a bigger one.Do Note: It does compound miter cuts, but only in one direction. The motor will tilt down to the left only, NOT to the RIGHT. The saw is light and easily moved. I like this, as I'm getting older. A dewalt miter saw I have is 45 lbs and I despise moving it, though it stays put.Pay attention to the way you cut the steel material, as it can extend your blade life. The knob to tighten the angle down could use redesign. It works, but does allow some wiggling from the set point. You can likely improve this, and I've thought of a way, but I didn't see the need personally. I am welding most joints that I cut with this, so even cuts within 1/16 are fine. You can limit travel from the set angle but simply maintaining constant pressure with the hand on the motor, toward the right or left direction. Simply control the direction you are cutting and don't go left and right with your force. The soft start is nice, though I thought it was a defect, LOL. The laser is a nice touch and is very accurate with some adjustment.Their customer service is great. I sent the original saw with the arbor movement defect back in a box, and they sent me a new saw because it is under warranty. Overall, I am very happy. The saw is light and easily moved. I like this, as I'm getting older. A dewalt miter saw I have is 45 lbs and I despise moving it, though it stays put.

Great Saw. Missing Blade.
I order the R255SMS 10" TCT Multi-Material Sliding Miter Saw. Love the saw. But, there was no blade included the package as described on the listing. Luckily I had purchased a spare. Saw works great but was disappointed that the blade was not in the package. If I had not bought a spare I would have been unable to complete the project I was working on. I hope Amazon does not ship all these saws without the blades. I hope Amazon and Evolution Power Tools can resolve this. Great saw though cuts through just about anything.

So far a great addition to my shop for the $$$
I bought this unit to cut many different materials I use in my metal fab shop. Alloy, Mild Steel, Stainless, TItanium and Aluminum tubing along with various bar stock, etc. The miter table works well even when covered with metal cut chips. The hold down clamp feels a little flimsy but you don't need to crank down on it to hold the material but the adjust-ability is nice. The biggest factor I've discovered is don't waste your time with the Evolution blades. I bought two of the "steel" blades and they were good for maybe two dozen cuts before they started getting dull and not cutting well. So I went to a local Industrial supply store and they turned me on to Diablo blades. They hooked me up with one designed for all metal alloys, not just steel or aluminum and it was less money than the Evolution blades. So far I've made probably over 40 some cuts including two cuts thru 3.5" dia. .250" wall DOM tubing and it just keeps on going with no sign of getting dull yet. So the combo of this saw with the Diablo blade works great!

Really, this saw does not have a laser.
Oh there is a laser mounted, just don't count on it ever working. Mine was DOA out of the box. so far the saw has cut well, I hope it last more than a month.

JUST BUY IT! UNBELIEVABLE SAW
A+ BUY IT!This saw is unbelievable! Allows clean, accurate cuts that give perfect fitment for tig welding with minimal time. Ive been using it to cut .125 to .250 square and rectangle tubing for custom fab work on a car. The ease of use is such a time saver, change angles within seconds and if you need a compound cut... It can do that too. This style of saw is perfect in any worl environment where cleanliness and fitment are key.Tips...Buy the Diablo Metal Blades they make this thing slice like butter.Double check your saw fence and blade are square... Mine was dead nuts out of the box.Remove the stickers before they start getting damaged and are harder to peel in one piece.Take care of it, keep her clean... Use compressed air to keep material debris out of motor and cutting bed.

great addition to my shop
I was trying to buy the 14" saw but was told it could not be shipped to Alaska, so I am happy I was able to purchase the 10". Every metal fabrication you tube channel I watch seems to have the Evolution saws, so I feel that is the industry standard. I have a metal cutting miter saw but it is not a sliding compound saw, so was limited in what I can do with it. I use my bandsaw to cut stock to workable size, but this compound miter saw will make a lot of tasks simpler.

4 Month Update - Video review
The media could not be loaded. I have used this saw for 4 months now. I used it maybe once a month on a few projects, mostly wood. I cut some light gauge steel and aluminum. It was great for the price and for a while. As of today, the saw is useless; The motor gets up to speed and then quits. look at the video. I have put a warranty claim into evolution and will update my rating depending on the outcome.
