Pros & Cons
I purchased this product hoping to condense my make-up for an upcoming 2 week trip. The thought of bringing 8324372423 eyeshadows made me cringe, but as an eyeshadow addict, the thought of NOT having "options" was, well...not an option. So, since I tend to always reach for the golds, browns, tans, beiges and greys, this "warm" pallette seemed to be just what the suitcase ordered.Pros & Pleasant Surprises:-LOTS of Colors; As other reviewers have said, this isn't just a pallette of "earth tones", instead there are plums and pinks and bluish greys etc. that aren't typical in most "warm" palettes. They tend to have the gold-ish base (in lieu of pearly pink or silver), so they are less "intimidating" to those of us who tend to reach for the trusty coppers, golds and browns. They all work on "warm" skin, or what I would say is skin with more yellow undertones instead of pinks/blues. So, having these little surprise colors is nice.-Portability; Unlike other reviewers, the small size of each color is actually appealing to me. Since I was looking for a gargantuan selection in compact form for travel, these little "gems" in their flat easy to carry case, were perfect. The large mirror is also a plus as you can see more than just an eye, so could double as a "hand mirror" for those who might need that sort of thing.-Multiple "Finishes"; I was surprised to find mattes, pearls and sparkles all smarltly placed in one kit. Even the lightest tones have a choice between a matte finish and a shimmery one. There are neither too many, nor too few of either "finish"...just perfect!-Can Double As A "Brow Kit"; I had actually ordered Coastal's Brow kit the same day I ordered this. After seeing this pallette, with it's variety of matte brow-appropriate shades, I realized, I could have skipped the brow kit all together. So, again, for me, who wanted something to travel with, this kit actually eliminated the need to bring my new brow kit along! While I do like the brow kit I ordered very much, in many ways the variety of "brow browns" in this kit is an even better choice!-Silky Smooth Application; I hate spending money on expensive make-up, especially shadows where I'm more apt to "play" or only use every once in awhile (instead of them being a "staple" in the beauty routine), but it can be aggravating when less expensive brands "drag" accross the eyelid or "skip" or deposit color unevenly. These shadows are much better quality in terms of consistency than typical "discount" brands. They are smooth, silky and evenly apply. I'm that dreaded middle age at this point, and I have some crepey weird areas on my eyelids, plus have extremely hooded lids that make eyeshadow application an art form, and these shadows DEFINITELY are as good as even the MAC shadows in terms of their "willingness" to spread, blend and finish smoothly. I use a primer as my eyelids can be a little oily at times, but even when I first got the shadows and wanted to "play" and didn't take time for primer, I was pleasantly surprised at their smooth application.Color Specific Pros; GREENS:There are a few green shades, an olivey gold and a very light green in that same color range, that are simply gorgeous. I have greenish grey eyes so really WANT to wear a touch of green, but most greens scare me. They are either so "muted" that I might as well just reach for my fav. bronzey brown, or they are so green that I feel like an 80's chick and/or "doin' it a little too much" for a gal my age. The greens in this palette are great. Just green enough that you get that burnished "old gold"/olivey reflection, but not so green that you feel like you might be wearing your 7th grade neice's make up.... or be ready for a Def Leopard video shoot. The added bonus of having comlimentary green shades in both shimmery and matte finishes was great, too. As mentioned, I have very hooded lids, so like to put a matte in my crease, but matte greens elsewhere can be creepy...can look a bit like you smudged some dirt on your eye. These are different. Very nice shades of green...just enough green to get the point accross! BROWNS: Love me some browns, so obviously a billion choices of the shades of brown is perfect. I really like the bronzey browns and the gold undertone champagne light browns. This palette has both a-plenty. There are some gorgeous "root-beer-ish" browns that I haven't quite seen elsewhere. Sort of that TRUE brown..not grey/brown, green/brown or red/brown (tho this palette has those, too), with a little golden "kick". Very VERY nice shades from light to dark in this color. GREYS/SILVERS: Great surprise to find such an assortment of these shades, but again, they are not your run-of-the-mill greys and silvers. They are "adjusted" to a warmer complexion. Meaning, some of the the silvers have a more golden untertone to them so they mix nicely with even browns. The greys are the same way. I really love grey/silver eyeshadow, but with yellow-y undertones and an affinity for bronzer-colored brush and gold based glosses and lipsticks, some silvers and greys look like I *might* have a black eye and/or "don't match" the rest of my face. Not these. New and unusual greys/silvers that reflect warmer colors in the light make it all work. As an added bonus, there are some very dark grey/black shades that can be used as liners if you are like me...tend to be compelled to use black eyeliner regardless of what else you have "going on". Again, another bonus...no need to drag an extra compact along with your fav. black shade...it's in there. WHITES/LIGHTS; Loved the fact that there were both matte and shimmer shades in true whites and goldish whites. With my complexion, if white/highlight shades have too much pink-ish blue undertones, if I use them on my brow bone as a highlighter, they look a bit like I just plucked my eyebrows and have some weird irritation going on. The vast array of warmer whites/highlighters was a great bonus.Cons & Slight Disappointments:Pigmentation; Despite what other reviewers have said, I was slightly disappointed with the pigmentation of some colors, especially the shimmery lighter colors. While they spread beautifully as I mentioned above, they lacked "pop" that I had expected. I found that tossing your brush for the lid color and just using your finger, they seem to "come to life" quicker without excessive layering. I hate layering over and over again because it drives me batty to have all of that excess in my eyelashes and the random flashes of glittery shimmer I see for hours after, after having had to layer with a brush, irritate me. So using my finger seemed to deposit the color more "deeply" without all of the mess. However, the color is still not *quite* what it looks like in the case even doing this. I'm sure many people will achieve what they are looking for by layering, but I get freaked out that my eyelids will look pasty or will draw attention to my gorgeous crepey-ness, so I tend to settle for "good enough". The darker colors are a bit better, and the mattes are great, but the mid-tones and lights are not quite what you might hope for.Lack Of Color Names; While I realize that the trend in beauty is to name colors things like, "Orgasm", therefore the consumer has no way of using the color name as a "context clue" for what family/shade of color a particular product is, it would be nice to have these labled...even with an insert in the package etc. Some of the bronzey browns are hard to differentiate between the purple-y browns and without a good light, you might be in for a surprise when you load that brush with a brown favorite only to find out it looks more plum than brown. This is a nit-picky con, because the shadows blend nicely enough that an "oops" can be covered with the color you had first intended, but it seemed worth mentioning. I would also offer that if Coastal chose to sell shades individually, or they were included in a smaller compact, one might want to know what the shade name is of their most favorite in this palette. No Instructions/Application "Tips"; While I am 39 years old, and have been wearing make up for decades, I still like the little pamphlets or "look books" included with some products, particularly eye products. It's always nice to see ideas. Again, nit picky, but worth a mention.Colors Oddly Arranged; This palette has everything you need, no doubt about that, however the colors are sort of strangely arranged in the palette. You can see some order..perhaps there will be a "light to dark" of a specific color range in a line, but then, over in the far corner there appears a shade that also matches that "palette within the palette". I'm not exactly sure how I would recommend fixing this, BUT buyers should just be sure to look at ALL pale shades (for example) before applying the first one that seems to match the "family" that you are applying. You might find that there is a pale color (using same example) 27 shades down and to the left that you like better than the most obvious choice. Again, very nit-picky, but since I've already written a novel about eyeshadow, might as well add every detail.Color Specific Cons; YELLOWS: One odd thing was that there was no "true yellow" shade. Yellow like a lemon/primary color yellow. I tend to reach for true yellows to "warm up" other colors and/or tone down something that was a little too shocking for me. I also use a true yellow to jazz up bland eyeliners (add yellow to black liner, it reflects a hint of green, add yellow to brown liner, it reflects bronzeish, add yellow to grey liner, it adds a tiny reflection of teal). While there are enough colors in this palette, a girl probably doesn't NEED the "true yellow" to get the effect you are looking for, I was slightly surprised to see that in this vast array of colors it wasn't included. There are nice pale yellows (in both matte and shimmer) and lots of orange-y gold yellows and several tanish-yellows...but no straight-up yellow. I'm sure this isn't the end of the world for most, but it was surprising to me. REDDISH BROWNS; Somewhat related to my above "con" of no color names, some shades that appear brown are actually plum and there are a few that look to be "true brown", but pull alot of pinkish/red tones. Again, this is likely a personal preference, but for me, reddish browns always make me feel like I look like I *might* have been in a fight. I prefer golden browns. So, just a word of caution, even if the color appears to be "true brown" in the case, test it on your hand to make sure it is not a reddish brown or plum brown, if those aren't what you are after. Those golden browns are in there, you just have to find 'em.All in all, this palette is exactly what I was looking for. While I'm always glad to discover new shades (which you will!), I wasn't looking to re-vamp my entire routine. I wanted something portable, with lots of choices. This more than delivered that. While not everyone will be "wowed" by the product, I feel pretty confident in saying that very few could claim true disappointment either. I am keeping my eye on Coastal's products as I think they are definitely above average in products in this reasonable price range.

Amazing Value
I have been contemplating getting this palette for the longest time. I've seen video after video on Youtube, but I was still worried that the quality would be lacking. It just seemed too good to be true that I could get 88 quality shadows for under twenty bucks. I am really picky about eyeshadow. Most of my eyeshadows are from high end brands. That being said I am very happy with this palette. The majority of the colors are very pigmented and there are a lot of unique colors to play with. One of the main reasons I got this palette was to be able to play around with bright colors. If you are like me, it is easier to shell out $15 for a brown shade you can year everyday, than for a bright pink you will only wear a few times a year. This palette is perfect for that because you get a wide variety of colors to play with. There are also some really pretty browns and neutral palettes which is a big plus. If you are just starting out with make-up this palette pretty much has every color you would ever need.Overall, I am pleased with the palette and feel it is an amazing value for the money, however there are a few cons I should point out. First, while the majority of colors are very pigmented, a few are chalky and lack pigmentation. I am ok with this because even if a few shadows aren't the best it is still a good value for the money. Secondly, if you really want the colors to look thier best you really need to use a primer. I use a primer anyway, but if you don't you may not be as satisfied with the colors in this palette. Finally, I've had this palette less than month and some shadows have already been popping out. The palette has not been dropped and I have read similar complaints, so it is obviously a product defect. This really annoys me but I love the shadows so much I can over look it. Just bear in mind that the shadows may pop out and keep the palette level when you are using it, otherwise you may lose a shadow or two. For me the pros definitely outweigh the cons. If you are on the fence I recommend you watch some video reviews and tutuorials to help you decide.

Maybe work on packaging.
I just opened and everything was good except the black eyeshadow got broken during shipping I can hopefully fix it with rubbing alcohol. Otherwise everything looks great.

Dream come true
Absolutely great palette full of incredible range of colours. Absolutely worth the money, made me very happy when it arrived. Great mix of nudes and colours - you can experiment, but if you decide you are not the "bright coulours" type, you still have plenty of nudes to use. My favourite ones are green's, the payoff is absolutely beautiful. I also recomend using white eyeshadow pencil under it, it works the best.
