Sawyer Products SP2129 Micro Squeeze

I originally bought this for long hikes that I take on a camping trip each year. I've used it on those hikes and it's wonderful and lightweight easy to use. Honestly though I use it more often when I'm mountain biking on local trails. It means I don't have to carry as much water with me because I'm able to filter water as I go and this is much lighter than carrying water

This has been our favorite filter yet. Our friends used ours the whole trip because it works much more smoothly. Squeeze the blue bag to create the force, and it comes quickly through the filter (good flow).. Glad we replaced our other with this one.

I am not an outdoor enthusiast by any means. But I do believe in being prepared. I was putting together an emergency evacuation Go Bag and wanted a water filter that was reliable and easy to understand how to use. I watched a number of youtube videos and saw that the Sawyer was recommended over and over. Even I can understand how to use it. So I got one for my bag and one for my husband's bag. I practiced with the product and it really is easy. Impressed with how tiny it is, too.

Had a Sawyer Mini. It is now at the bottom of a gorge :(. Upgraded to this as a replacement.Love that it is easy to use. Nice flow. Easy to back flush/clean.Cons are that it can leak if not perfectly tightened on with properly seated o-ring.Make sure to not let it freeze and it will last forever!!!

The filter works great. It is lightweight and has good flow-through. However, the bag broke on my very first trip. There is a very fine balance between applying enough pressure on the bag to get water to flow through the filter, and applying too much pressure causing the bag to start leaking. I am keeping the filter, but will by a different bag for it.The only other issue is there isn't a cap to keep the dirty water from leaking out of the filter when in storage on the trail. This meant the bag I kept the filter in would have drops of dirty water in it potentially contaminating the clean end of the filter.

Easy to use and quality made. Will update after the summer!

I had read that the included squeeze bags aren't that great and can break easily, so I swapped it out for a Dunkive 2L squeeze bag instead. The flow feels pretty good. With this combo, I can realistically filter about 70oz in about 2 minutes. The filter and bag together weigh only about 5 or 6oz and packs down tiny. Filters faster and is a much lighter, smaller package than the Grayl and MSR filters I've used. Will have to see how it performs in the field, but I'm happy so far.
