It does indeed sooth the throat. I used to use drink it when I was a performer and put a lot of stress on my voice. Helps that I actually liked the taste.

The package was busted open but other than that, this is very good tea. I use it for my lpr. For the people complaining that it's dangerous it's not. This tea is meant to be used in moderation for medicinal purposes, not to be drank in large amounts or every single day. There is a warning on the box and everything.

Any time someone says their throat hurts I brew this tea. It helps soothe the pain and calm coughing. It has a light bitter taste. I usually mix it with lemmon or echinacea tea to improve the taste.
