Great stethoscope - light weight with heavy duty acoustics, long tubing, much more affordable than the Littman
I am an emergency physician. I use my stethoscope every day of my working life. For years I used a 3M Littmann Master Cardiology Stethoscope, Black Plated Chestpiece and Eartubes, Black Tube, 27 inch, 2161 (currently over $200). A year ago I picked up this ADC Adscope 615, and since then this has become the only stethoscope I bring to work. The longer tubing helps avoid bending over and saves my back. The elongated chest piece handles very nicely. Critically for me, it is light around the neck. Much much lighter than the Littman. It's quite possible that a technical acoustic assessment would find differences between the Littman (with it's thicker, shorter tubing, and heavier and more expensive chest piece) and the 615. However, for the scope of my work in the Emergency Department there are no differences which impact my clinical performance whatsoever. Even cardiologists these days rely far more on echocardiograms and do not make definitive diagnoses of murmurs by auscultation alone, so I really wonder if there are any physicians for whom there is an appreciable difference in performance. At under $50, with the longer tubing, the lighter carrying weight around the neck or in the coat pocket, and the excellent acoustics, this is a great choice for any physician, PA, NP, nurse, paramedic, EMT or medical student. The price tag definitely takes the sting out of losing one of these, which happens every few years.

Fantastic Sound Quality for Heart & Lung Sounds - Wish it Had a Carring Case
I'm a nurse and I need a good stethoscope for listening to heart and lung sounds. I also need a stethoscope for taking manual blood pressures. The ADC Adscope is great as far as listening to heart sounds. It's clear as a bell. You can tell the bell portion is high quality - its built like a Littman.Compared to many stethoscopes, the tubing on this one is rubbery. I can't say that I like that feature - it may prove to be harder to clean than the more vinyl tubing of other stethoscopes. Also, there's no carrying case. Sure, I plan on wearing this around my neck most of the time, but its less pretentious to keep it in a storage case on your way to work. Plus it stays cleaner that way.Wow - I love how snug the earplugs fit into my ears. What a great stethoscope for the money. Fantastic sound. Awesome purchase.

Better than Litman Classic-3
I am a med student currently in my clinical rotations like all others I was in a dilemma whether to buy Litman or the never heard brand ADC. I spent about 2 days trying to find out the best stethoscope possible. After detailed reviews, I thought I should go for the branded Litman and it was costing me around 120$. Then my friend and most other people even suggested Litman. I have to tell you honestly if you want to get Litman get the top cardiology one don't waste your 120$ for something which is not very worthy I feel. But if you are med student and you are on a budget and want to get the top cardiology Litman mimic then get ADC Adoscpe 615 platinum. I have to tell you this one almost resembles the Litman cardiology and it just beats Litman classic-3. I believe this is just the right product for any med student who's in their rotation and when I received the product I felt its quite durable as well. I hope I don't have to get another one until I finish my residency. Litman's classic series is just a brand I feel. Its like BENZ there are basic and top-end models. people who ride the basic model they don't know why they are spending so much still they are buying it just for the brand. Please don't fall into the trap and not all branded products have great quality and vice-versa. This is my opinion because I have spent an ample amount of time comparing and used Litman products in hand. I would highly recommend hands down.

Good scope, great service!
I ordered this tactical black scope almost 6 years ago and used daily. Perfect mix of quality, weight, comfort, sound and price. Ive used littmann previously. They make great stuff but the high end ones are too heavy and their lightweight models are too cheesy. This one fits right in between. The bell cover finally came apart and after being unable to find parts to order, contacted ADC. They responded same day to my email and sent out the parts I needed free of charge that was delivered a few days later. Great service. However, the black coating on the bell will fail and scratch off after a year or 2. They don't include cosmetic issues with their lifetime warranty. They were kind enough to help me out but I would suggest avoiding this particular model and stick with silver bell models. They are bulletproof....

It works in reverse!
Emergency medicine physician, 8 years and counting. Been looking for a solid replacement for my current stethoscope which basically died on me, but unable to cough up 200 USD for the Littman model that I fancied. Stumbled across this beauty, and never looked back!Lightweight and doesn't even feel any heavier during 24-hour shifts. The sleek, extended tubing is a blessing for the back when taking vitals and stuff. The sound, which was heavily maligned by other reviews, may be due to the fact that it works in reverse, i.e. light contact is a bell function, deep pressure is a diaphragm (standard) one. It all takes getting used to, but the sounds are clear when used properly. Heck, the bell function was like listening to a bass amp!Tac Black color. Released the Batman in me. LOL Do wish this beaut was more available!
