Great for senior with hearing aids
I am a 73 year old senior citizen with hearing loss and use ITE hearing aids. I received my Sony MDR-RF960RK Headphones last week. I don't write reviews but in this case I must. They are very comfortable( not a lot of pressure) and I can use the headphones while wearing my hearing aids with NO FEEDBACK and the quality of the sound is fantastic(to an old mans ears), you can adjust the loudness to whatever is comfortable. I plugged them into our TV's yellow and red audio out sockets and can listen to a program at the same time as my wife without driveing her nuts. Before even with hearing aids it was still hard to understand some peoples voices without turning up the volume. Be aware if you plug them into the phone jack( not the yellow and red Jacks) of the TV no one else can hear the sound, so make sure you read ALL the instructions and follow the connection diagrams. My wife can still mute the TV during commercials and control the volume to whatever she wants without affecting the level of sound that I have with the headphones(muting does not affect the sound that you hear, so I just take off the head phones if I don't want to listen to the commercial). It takes a few tries to learn the trick of putting the headphones on the charger correctly but it really is not as difficult as some reviews have said. I don't know how long the batteries will last but I am going to order an extra set later and also a spare set of the ear pads. You can walk around the house and still listen to a program. I think the price was a very good deal and the delivery was very fast. I hope this will help someone else that is hearing impared.

Not quite impressed
I just bought these headphones, despite some not-so-good opinions about them. My previous headphones were Technics (wired), and I really wish they had wireless solutions. But they don't, so I picked Sony. I have to say that my first impression was a "wow!": the ergonomics are perfect, the headset is very lightweight and you can almost forget you are wearing it, and the whole kit is very stylish and good looking.A coulpe hints for first-timers:* Let the batteries charge completely before first use. A green light will stay on while charging, and it will go off when the batteries are ready.* Turn the volume all the way up in your audio equipment. Let the headphones control the volume. This is important to get a good strong signal from the base.* The on/off switch is built in the headband, so the headphones turn themselves on when you wear them (or pull the headband), and go off when you take them out.I've been wearing them for about a couple hours now, and it still feels quite comfortable. And while the audio quality is what I expected of Sony, I must say that the wireless solution is not very good: I have the base unit at barely 3 feet away, and I get static sometimes!. Very disappointing. Static goes away after a while though, but sometimes it comes back when you move around. Also, I bought an extra set for a friend, and we used them for PC audio. It was very annoying that sometimes my headphones picked his signal, and the other way around too. The base has 3 channels you can manually select, but the headset has only an auto-tunning button that you must click until you pick the right signal. All in all, I have to say that the headphones are ok, but not a bit more than that. Good audio (when you manage to get no static), excellent ergonomics, regular (almost poor) wireless solution, very good looking.

Absolutely unusable.
re: Sony MDR-RF960RK headphonesI recently ordered the above product for my parents for private television listening. This product was so grossly defective in design and performance that I returned it for full refund immediately.I am a professional audio engineer with extensive RF experience so this is not a case of user error. Interference noise in the form of high frequence audio tones (of which the manual advised) is so objectionable that my 80 year old parents could hear it plainly. The so-called 'noise filter' switch attenuated the wanted audio and the unwanted noise equally so that the needed volume compensation brought back the noise full force. The audio input circuit has such poor dynamic range that adding input level in an attempt to overwhelm the noise resulted in unlistenable compressor pumping and distortion. Absolutely unusable.I find it hard to believe than Sony, with their history of outstanding professional broadcast audio equipment, would actually produce and sell such a low quality product. Though I proudly own and use many of their professional products, I am sorry to say this product will keep me from taking the chance on any Sony consumer wireless in the future.
